I'm sure someone has said this already, but things moving "weirdly" in the background is actually an intentional graphics choice! Things that are sufficiently far from the camera drop way down in fps both to save power and as a cute aesthetic choice. You can notice things pick back up to their regular framerate as you draw closer to them. The depth of field effect is there for a similar reason; both to emphasise distances and to cut down on processing power. They learnt a lot from the tech issues in Star Allies.

Something that I learned while fiddling with the game is that it is possible to instantly drop a copy ability or mouthful mode by pressing the select (minus) button, instead of holding down "y". Over the course of the game it might not be that much faster, but it might save a few fractions of a second here and there.

The beast pack was all Fecto forgo's doing because after becoming Leongar he formed the brutal pack and started hunting down Elfilin. All this is revealed by Gotcha descriptions btw, they are this game's pause screen descriptions.

The only real complaint I have is how it feels the need to have a billion different cutscenes every time you want to upgrade a power. First there's the actual scroll collection, then the cutscene where it highlights the forge, then the cutscene of giving forge dee the scroll(s), then a cutscene in front of every power for every single scroll you got, *then* finally there's the actual forging cutscene itself, which is the *only* skippable one.

i mean kirby very well could have gone that way. for a time after sakurai left kirby development, the series did stall and slump like the rest, and many didn’t think the series could pull through. game development is hard after all, especially amid the struggle between raw creativity and corporate considerations, and it’s unfortunate many franchises seem to decay or outright die when stuck in development hell kirby fortunately underwent a revival under a new director who is just really good at making things come together, and kirby has been wowing us ever since interestingly enough, sakurai did foresee the sequelitis that befalls most franchises and leave seemingly because of it. if the dev interviews are any indication, a lot of decisions regarding kirby development HAL has made were done with that possible decay / death in mind, between celebrating that the pink puff has pulled through against all odds and making sure everything was polished before making the jump to the third dimension

it makes me wonder if it would be worth getting the 3rd lava upgrade, dragonfire, just because of how much damage it outputs in the lion and the final battle, if it takes under a minute to get it would be well worth it especially for the final boss because of how many invincible cycles he has, faster damage = less invincibility= more time saved, additionally because of how early it is theres more then a chance it would save time on the following levels.

Morpho Knight doesn't count because 1) it is a superboss, not a final boss, and 2) we don't even know whether or not the same Morpho Knight that appears in the opening cutscene is the Morpho Knight fought, or even if the same Morpho Knight appears in every opening cutscene _with_ a Morpho Knight in it. Every other final boss, or final superboss, for that matter, has their role accurately conveyed.

45:48 I had to slow it down to 0.25× and spam pause to be as sure as possible. It was hard to tell but I think Chris just barely reached the cage first. The only thing I know for sure is that the closest you both were while at the same height Chris was infront, when it came to actually getting the waddle dee's it was hard to tell since waddle dee was on the ground and Kirby was in the air, but it seems to me like Chris won this one.

I did the same and found that when they turned invisible (triggering the short cutscene) was when Chris landed so Chris did win this one
