It depends; I think the whole "cosmic horror" thing has been blown out of proportion post-Return To Dreamland. If I recall canon events correctly, he fought Nightmare once, Dark Matter twice, Zero once (twice if you count Zero Two as the same being), Dark Nebula, Dark Mind, Drawcia, and Magolor/the Master Crown once each, and the big ol' Void Termina once. Counting the fights, that's ten, eight if you count by enemies instead of number of fights - there are probably quite a few game characters who have fought more than that, like any character who survives long enough in Darkest Dungeon, and possibly Bayonetta, though I don't know enough about her games to say definitively.

Can I just say how much I love the revenge of meta Knight? Honestly with how much danger dream land has been in it seems only logical that someone actually capable of protecting it should take over right? While I don't justify blowing up parts of dream land just to test the haliberd like what they did I do think that meta Knight would be a much better leader than whatever is going on in dream land. Kirby kinda just mindlessly does whatever and even almost endangered the universe for a simple cheese cake in squeak squad and was tricked by marx. Also meta knight's crew going down with the ship shows their devotion and loyalty to him even in a dying situation. Probably my favorite part is the fight against meta knight himself because I get the impression that meta Knight is truly giving it his all opposed to him making sure Kirby is strong enough to fight the final boss like in all the other games and is actually really upset that he destroyed his plans. Of course Kirby though can't exactly understand what meta knights motives are either. In squeak squad meta knight actually pulls the halberd out of the secret sea too which further connects the series.
@yunseaweed2 жыл бұрын
a super underrated part of kirby games is how residents of dreamland treat him as opposed to how outside invaders treat him susie severely underestimates kirby at first and sees him only as an annoying obstacle, thinking she can beat him with Mecha Knight when we know that's obviously not the case meanwhile in revenge of meta knight all the crew can do is delay Kirby because they all know subconsciously that once Kirby's back on the ship they are royally screwed
@HannahBanina Жыл бұрын
The _Halberd_ showing up again, explicitly as having been sunk at the bottom of the ocean before MK (and his crew, presumably) gets it up and working again, actually might have been my favorite part of _Squeak Squad_ honestly. Not only did it reintroduce a beloved element of a beloved previous installment, it unambiguously told _Kirby_ veterans that “oh yeah. Continuity is a thing in this series.” Honestly, I love how the _Halberd_ keeps showing up to reaffirm continuity in general. Kirby copying it in _Robobot_ led to the revelation of another NOVA existing and finally opened the theory floodgates *WIDE* open, sure; but even small things like MK namedropping Grape Gardens in _Super Star,_ implying that the mountainous levels you go through before reaching Dyna Blade are actually part of Yogurt Yard and that the _Halberd_ itself is flying above Orange Ocean, thus directly connecting the whole game to _Kirby’s Adventure,_ and which makes sense given Meta Knight was the boss of Orange Ocean,* they just. Really make me happy. The fact that _Kirby_ continuity has managed to be this consistent is something I will never not love about the series 🩷 (*honestly making those connections made me associate Meta Knight with the ocean so closely that seeing him not only having been roboticized, but forced to be the boss of the *desert world* in _Robobot,_ actually made me hate the Haltmann Works Company almost as much as seeing what they did to Whispy did. When you get into the right mindset of actually having an attachment to these characters, especially the ones who’ve endured for so long, these games just work your emotions perfectly and it’s wonderful 😁)

Super Star Ultra is how you remake a game right. New levels and game modes to play? ☑️ New bosses to fight? ☑️ More characters to play as? ☑️ Unlockables that actually feel like rewards you have to work for? ☑️ Not to mention, setting the standard for Kirby games going forward, like having a Soul form of the main final boss in an exclusive boss-rush mode, and also bringing back the advanced movesets of each Copy Ability that were dumbed down previously in Amazing Mirror/Squeak Squad. This will forever be my favorite of the Kirby series. Still play it to this day.

Although Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards was my first Kirby game, Super Star Ultra was the one that made me love this pink puff ball and play the rest of the series until the 3DS ones...this game is magic. Now that i see Super Star Ultra again i remember your "Attempting to Explain All of Kirby Lore in a Single Video" video that made me subscribe to your channel in 2019. Didn't knew about the whole reimagining of the OG Dream Land with Spring Breeze my first time...still liked it, Dynablade was a nice change of pace. I thought that The Great Cave Offensive was the worst Kirby stage in Smash history, jokes aside i loved that mode except for the old tower at least on my first playthrough. 8:27 THAT STUPID PART man i just suck at it...funnily enough i got 100% without guides and loved the references and now more with my knowledge with the series. Gourmet Race is great but because i'm a forever alone never got to play with someone. Revenge of Metaknight...the magnum opus of the original game, love the little details that i found by pure accident and the Metaknight fight is great extra points if the helper does something more than just screwing around. Milky Way Wishes was a good time except for Hotbeat that planet can go to literal hell. The extra modes are amazing the extra content in general is good. Man remember Revenge of the King was a fun time, and i had a good time playing this and the ending is great, also Masked Dedede's theme is great and that theme isn't original even coming from Super Star Stacker (or however is called in Japan i forgot). Metaknightmare Ultra...the magnum opus from this remake EASILY the best part oh and Galacta's theme just AMAZING, only issue he's easy with Meta Knight at least in the finale he's a challenge. The extra games are good time wasters and i'm ready for war if anybody tries to. Helper to Hero is pure hell if you wanna get the extra for clearing it WITH ALL OF THEM...and i did it...never doing it again. The hardest true arena let's be real is Robobot with Return to Dream Land with friends if you aren't on sync and Marx's soul sucks...that stupid scream. Man this game is a great and a masterpiece. Sorry for the long comment but this game is magic and my last playthrough against a friend on a vs on December 2020 was a blast and had a good time but really hated the old tower and Hotbeat. Great video man and i hate you for that screamer XD

Can I just say how BRILLIANTLY kirby handles boss rushes? So many boss rushes in other games I feel either become inconsequential for the majority of it or way too long to be fun on subsequent tries. Kirby handles this fantastically, especially in this game. The bosses are never too long, there's an interlude full of heath items, so your not always screwed after a tough fight, but you still need to perform well so you don't run out. And the true arena only takes the harder variants of bosses, so it's potentially shorter, but way harder. I'd say 3d kirby games handle this a bit worse because bosses are longer, and especially in PR virtually fighting every single boss in both arenas. But even then, they handle it well.

Canvas Curse was my first Kirby game, but Super Star Ultra was easily one of my top favourites. It did everything the original did, but better with subtle improvements and even more content - it arguably most notably set the stage for future main series entries to always include the Arena and True Arena modes, with a Soul version of the Final Boss at the end of the latter. I know Canvas Curse technically did the Soul thing first, but still. Oh, and it also gave us Galacta Knight, a badass recurring secret boss that was usually the main challenge for Meta Knight whenever he was the star of the respective game's Extra Mode. I only hope that if the source code is still included, they could at least make a console port for it. But I doubt that.

I am very honored to say that this will always be my very first and favorite Kirby game. Even though it was a remake of the original SNES game I had so much fun playing it! I'll always remember buying the last copy of the game from Radio Shack I was so excited that I'd finally gotten my hand on a Kirby game! I really loved the Helper gimmick that I'd often just inhaled enemies so Kirby could have his own traveling companion lol! There were times that I'd often get frustrated going through certain levels but I often took time to admire the stage build. Gazing at the background of the Crystal Area in Great Cave Offensive always had me in awe, oh the cutscenes THE CUTSCENES! The cutscenes were executed perfectly! I'll always remember the heart wrenching guilt I felt after defeating Dedede in Revenge of The King, the triumphant fanfare of Kirby obtaining the Star Bike, and the dread of Marx getting revived by Nova's discarded parts. However the most notorious thing I'll always remember is the true final battle with Marx in the True Arena, Marx's insanity truly shined in that battle he no longer had sense of himself, I was already familiar with the previous battle but regardless he gave me HELL! Honestly I was relieved to deplete his HP all the way with one final shot but, that scream, that blood curdling scream blasting through my DS speakers had me traumatized! You could say that was my first ever disturbing gaming moment. In the end there is one thing I really enjoy from the game and that is the credits from Milky Way Wishes and Meta Knightmare Ultra. The credits theme always gave me a sense of comfort and relief, it was like I was going back home to my own planet, I'm passing by the other planets reminiscing the journey I had, it almost had me in tears, and before it could end Kirby flies up towards the screen with his Warp Star waving goodbye almost like he was saying "I couldn't have done it without you!" When the "And More" appeared I knew that was this the end but it wasn't the actual end, there was going to be more quests for Kirby to endure and a lot more enemies he needed to face, meaning that the journey truly wasn't over. So, in conclusion, this game was the perfect introduction to the Kirby franchise for me, and I will say it once more, it'll always be my favorite.

This was my first Kirby game, along with Mass Attack. I've nearly one hundred percented it, and I love it to death. The graphics, the controls, and Holy Void the music, the music is heavenly. All in all, a perfect remake of a great game already. Also, I and my brother never really played this game's 2P mode, instead opting for 2P NSMB, which is still the best multiplayer DS game.

Well, ALMOST perfect. If the audio had better quality for the music, then it would be perfect…but this is still damn good. They remade my favorite Kirby game really well

First time I reached Gourmet Race, I had no idea how to sprint, and thought it was impossible. It’s one of those moments where the answer is obvious and you’re oblivious to it.

Two Fun Facts about Super Star/Super Star Ultra: - The Stage Select/Corkboard Theme is just the Super Mario Bros. Invincibility Star theme but slowed down and in a lower key. - Meta Knight's Battle Theme is just Ridley's theme from Metroid but speed up and in a lower key

Man super star ultra was my first Kirby game, and it’s one of my favorites honestly. I loved revenge of meta knight so much when I was younger and played it for hours

I'm old: I remember getting the original at Christmas 1995 and loving it. It was so good.

Kirby Super Star Ultra is my favourite Kirby game, and I considered it like a true 'mainline' game (though being a remake) similar to Kirby's Return to Dream Land. Most of the game's track have been remixed (and even new characters like Galacta Knight) in subsequent games especially in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby Triple Deluxe and this game itself added more featues that most were not seen in the original game (such as the new boss theme for Heavy Lobster and Dyna Blade), like The True Arena or even the Blooper Reel cutscene. This game's soundtrack has also one of the series largest soundtracks as well and I really enjoy it

Did you know if you complete Hero to Helper with every character? You get the original Super Star cutscenes?

I remember finishing the one island part of Revenge of Metaknight and straight up panicking as I saw Dynablade, thinking it was going to be her revenge as well. It was super cool when she instead gave us a ride back to the Halberd. Also I remember feeling so cool for discovering where the copy ability was as well in Milky Way Wishes

Super Star Ultra was my first kirby game that I ever played when I was quite young, and I know young me absolutely adored the game and got into kirby through it. While I have no means of replaying the game currently, at the very least I replay standard Super Star very often cause it too is very good. I remember multiple times playing Ultra where I just would play it to and from school, long road trips, while just laying around at home, game was just so good. Wish child me could've 100%ed it, but oh well. Also it has yo-yo. Yo-yo is the best kirby ability. You cannot tell me otherwise.

Wanted to buy Kirby Super Star as a kid even after all the years it’s been out, but then I heard about its Ultra remake and I immediately bought it. Fell in love with it.

For some reason when I was younger I thought Marx Soul was scary and didn't wanna beat The True Arena because of it Nowadays I don't fear him anymore, but yeah.

I love milky way wishes, I always thought of it as kirby finally unlocking his true power thus being able to recall any ability he ever copied and using it at any time, at his prime Kirby could become the strongest entity in the universe
