After a fantastic experience meeting the two legendary tailors John Kent and Terry Haste, of Kent, Haste & Lachter, the last time Kirby was in London, it was essential that he got back to see them as soon as possible to commission his first pieces from them.
In today's video, watch Kirby go through the entire process of choosing his pieces, and then getting his measurements done, by both tailors!

@@daviddee9336 Covid is different. A lot of people are not comfortable going out and interacting with the public during the pandemic. If you are independently wealthy and don’t need to work for a living (like most customers of bespoke shops), you can literally stay at home for 2 years and not visit any store. Love John Kent's working style when taking measurements. Textbook definition of 'being in good hands'. Taking the customer in hand with a relaxed, firmly assured and very courteous manner. It bears no doubt after seeing this why he was the Duke's tailor. As soon as he takes that tape measure to the customer he goes into his element and it's a delight watching him go about it. That moment the craftsman comes to light and the love and attachment to his work is put to full glare. You can guarantee that suit is going to come out 10/10.

Wonderful video Kirby, John and Terry have such fantastic humour and energy between them. It'd be really interesting if later down the line you're able to get a look at the paper patterns they've both drafted for you and how they differ slightly!

This is a real treat. I've only experienced a few of the made to my measurement suits... But, I've always been curious... This is the best! I still remember how folks responded, the first time... How luxurious? I want one, too!

The thing about the DoE was that his dressing may have been classic but it was still within the broader fashion of the time. He never looked out of place or time, no matter his age.

Mr Allison's comment that tailoring is "an oral tradition that needs to be practised" reminds me of the great 'cellist Pablo Casals, who was asked why he continued to practise 3 hours a day into his 90s. Casals replied, "because I'm beginning to notice some improvement".

Excellent suit fitting video Kirby 👍 , 2 great guys and the young lady - learning from these guys 110 years experience combined is something remarkable- knowledge and craftsmanship… it’s a true work of art what they do and how much banter is going on. Just lovely to see, cheered me up so that’s a bonus.

I'll be going to their shop in December of this year to have 4 bespoke suits, shirts, 5 ties & 2 pairs of Bespoke shoes from Graziano. I'll be spending a "pretty penny" for their clorhing, but it's SSSSOOOOOO worth the investment!!!
