This channel is also where I came across the Berluti knot. I now tie all my shoes (dress, running, hiking) with this knot, taught kids the knot, and even taught an adult male neighbor (pretty unusual conversation, hey, I have a great knot to show you), but it turned out, he'd learned of a square knot only last year and promptly showed his co-workers. A truly great channel, really glad Mr. Allison has been successful with it.

The joy some people get from the smallest things really is great to see. Here I am watching a video of a man talking about how his life change because of the socks he wears. When I was about 13 remember walking around Harrods in the mid-1980s and seeing socks for 15 £20 a pair and I was totally shocked and still I am Because they are probably probably closer to £50 a pair

Great video Kirby! I bought a pair of your navy socks and they are phenomenal! Now, please show us how you take care of your ties and pocket squares. I would appreciate if you could share how you organize your collection. Thank you so much sir.

Would be fantastic to see a mending and up cycling series. Could see you learn to darn an old sweater, turn an old shirt into handkerchiefs, patch up courdoroys to be used as gardening pants, and feature designers who work on upcyling garments

Thank you for this! I will have to purchase a pair and give them a try. While not related to socks, I would love to see a series on “a gentleman’s home bar.” What are your thoughts on that Kirby? Thank you for introducing me to the Negroni!

If your socks are symmetric (that is to say, they are made with no explicit left/right sock and can be worn on either foot), try to ensure that you don't develop a tendency to "assign" a side to each sock (e.g., where you prefer a "left sock" for the left foot, a "right sock" for the right foot). If the socks are symmetric in shape each sock should ideally be worn on either your left or right foot around 50% of the time. This spreads out wear between the socks in some of the high areas (e.g., in the big toe area).

I'm actually pleasantly surprised Kirby actually picked up a needle! The darning needs some practice though, better leave that to the professionals. 😜

While I, myself, don’t give a F*CK about quality, craftmanship, nor tradition when it comes to my life, I love to watch someone that does when in me sleep, its comforting

Is that a bottle of Blantons Whiskey in the background? I was introduced to that lovely drop in Aiken a few years ago. Shame you can't get it often in the UK

Kirby, I bought a pair of your over the calf socks. They are very nice but they are absolutely huge. I wear a 9.5 shoe and am 5'10 but the socks are simply too long. They're almost over the knee dress socks.

Enjoy the way a nice pair of over the calf socks hug your lower legs. Comfort supreme! They are meant to be that long!!!

You probably have short calves, you'll most likely have to try other brands.

I have always worn OTC socks, especially decades ago when they were more readily available and made in America. However over time retailers became inundated with cheap Chinese and foreign sweatshop imports and mid calf numbers with poor elasticity that always fell to your ankles after a few steps! Also, because of deteriorating style awareness showing of bare legs when sitting down became rampant even with the so called elite(re: the prince and princess of Montecito being interviewed by infamous narcissist Opra Winfrey !!!) Today they are hard to find and expensive but well worth it if you care!

Are there any good otc made in America socks? I don't know of any brand producing in America that makes really fine socks.
