Late Kireet Joshi was an I.A.S. who was very much impressed by " Srimaa", the deciple of "maharishi Arvind " and joined her after resigning Indian Administrative Service in his youth. He studied Arvindo Philosophy as well as Indian philosophy specially Vedas , Upnishads very deeply .Later on, he became the Chairman of Arvindo Ashram at Pondichery in India. He was known as one of the few persons who could explain Arvindo Philosophy ie "Life Devine" etc.He had equally well versed in Vedic literature also. Tat sa-vi-tur-va-ren-yam, bhar-go de-vas-ya dhī- ma-hi, dhi-yo yo naḥ pra-cho-da-yāt. 7 (1st pād) + 8 (2nd pād) + 8 (3rd pād) = 23 syllables - unless we cheat and say va-re-ni-yam. The Gāyatrī meter has 3(8) = 24 syllables, so this is not quite in the Gāyatrī meter. Also there is no ॐ भूर् भुवः स्वः (Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ) preamble in the Rig Ved Samhita - that addition only came much later in the Taittiriya Aranyaka (2: 11.1-11.8) (ĀĪŪṛāīūḥ) .

The Rigveda that mentions mighty flowing SARASWATI and network of 7 rivers during times of 8000 BCE to 2000 BCE. Thus, Rigveda cannot be written by ARYANS of 1500 BCE as Sarswati had already dried up by 2000 BCE. Rig-Veda mention no TRADITIONAL HOLY PLANT OF CASPIAN SEA rather HOLY PEEPAL that surprisingly limited to INDIA & MYANMAR.

If you have not read the Bhagavad Gita, I would suggest you can start with that as it contains the essence of Vedas in more easy to understand form. Read Bhagavad Gita by BC Roy. If you he already read it well, then go for Upanishads which are the essence of Vedas.

Well english versions are just plain corrupted. I suggest if you can, you should learn Sansrit because even though I know hindi, I see many of the emotions, the actual messages gets lost in translation even though it is unintentional. Watch english language and brain development. Being bi-lingual and brain development. Why english is the easiest to pick up.

I would like to clarify that Veda is not book of Vedas.Books or scripts never existed in vedic periods.It was ,knowledge of the harmonious universe, expressed in spoken words ,heard and memorized by repetition and practice to treasure it for posterity.This is practised even now.As the devanagri script is insufficient to express the sounds as in the vedic mantras, additional codes have been introduced for pause,durations and pitch of a phonetic sound.The knowledge has been preserved only by the Guru Shishya parampara((teacher student discipline code) of the past.Texts on Vedas have complemented the past practise admirably.Thanks to the script founders and printing press.

Sanskrit is not an old language - the languages that were actually old in North Indian subcontinent was Prakrit and Pali languages. There is a huge amount confusion about Prakrit languages. There are 12 major North Indian languages 1, Apabhraṃśa (Prakrit); 2. Ardhamagadhi(Prakrit); 3. Dramili (oldest Prakrit); 4. Elu; 5. Gandhari; 6. Kamarupi; 7. Magadhi; 8. Maharashtri; 9. Paishachi; 10. Pali (also mentioned as Prakrit by some kingdoms); 11. Shauraseni; 12. Khasa. But each language is different and a few are referred as Prakrit language at different times especially the Dramili is the language used in the Ashoka edicts as Prakrit language which is the oldest written record for Pali and Prakrit. Ancient India had used Pali and Prakrit languages in Jainism and Buddhism literatures. Sanskrit is a new language that was created by refining, merging and choosing grammar and verbiage of all these 12 major languages- that’s why there is no record of written Sanskrit in ancient monuments or Jainism and Pali literature which were the oldest regions of Ancient India. Hence the claim to Sanskrits to be old is not proven because of this and even Rig Veda is first written down in 14th century AD and all claims are only verbal and they wrongly point to the written literature records of Prakrit or Pali languages as Sanskrit. Hindi is formed much later by choosing the largest spoken dialect of Prakrit in the present day Uttar Pradesh. So it very clear that anything written in Sanskrit is newly written literature after Sanskrit was formed.
