Im not sure about you guys but when it comes to sim racing the quality of graphics is quite far down the list of what im lookin for. 1st physics, 2nd quality of racing, 3rd cars/classes available, 4th probably gfx quailty. Thats just me.

I would add sound in that list. So far every game despite having very good sound, we still have sound engines far from being realistic and great. Sound plays a huge part in a simulation in my opinion. I'd say 1. Physics 2. Gameplay 3. Cars reproduction 4. Graphics 5. Sound The first reason is why I stopped playing WRC. Physics is nice. Until you see your car in a replay rotating on a central pivot point on a straight with very little steering. A cheap way to implement physics.

I'm just unhappy when the system requirements says that you need at least last gen hardware to play it, but the game is badly optimized and the graphics look like a game from 2010. But given the reputation AC has I am highly confident that it will be very well optimized for it's performance and graphics etc.

I'm actually more impressed by the way they render the road surface. If you've ever had a track walk on any of those racetracks you'll know what I mean. It's a small detail but it looks spot on. Let's hope the driving is spot on too and not as laggy and bouncy as ACC. Fingers crossed.

3:35 there's no raytraced reflections in any of these screenshots. The models and materials are top tier, however the cars lack internal reflections. This is most evident in complex bodywork that should reflect itself, or in interiors that only reflect the bright room outside. It gives a slightly glowy look in places and it's the only gripe I have with any of the visuals. Graphics aren't most important, but raytracing would be nice to have down the line if this game is going to last for as long as the original.

In terms of car quality (textures, paint, etc), I'm pretty sure everything that mentioned or shown in the official screenshots are already happened in the original AC with proper mod, ppfilter, and screenshot settings.

Really dont like usb/wireless vr headsets. You watch basically a compressed video stream which won't ever be the same quality as playing with a Displayport headset with uncompressed video signal. The compression of the video stream easily eat 10-20% of your GPU performance due to realtime encoding. Plus VR which is also performance eater. Tried the Pico 4 and even using high bitrate such as 300Mbps (surely the quest can do better) you can see the artifacts, shadows areas a blobby mess of mixed colours due to compression. I have a Rift S and despite having old fresnel lenses and lower panel res, the clarity of the input image it's much much better than a compressed video stream.

@@TheMash84 the compression really all depends on your set up. Definitely better to play on something with a display port, especially if you’re using your headset only for sim racing. But if you’re using your headset for actual VR games wireless is the way to go. I don’t notice the compression on anything but racing sims with my set up or at least it’s not a meaningful difference on anything else.

The difference when it comes to the concept cars is that those in GT included many that were never functional in real life (as in, they were not driveable). Those in the footage are concept cars that actually have been driven in real life during events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed. Both of these were present last year and went up the hill on multiple occasions.

I think Kunos will withhold 3rd party mods until they are at a point that actively producing in house new content and DLC packages for the game are at their end of life and they are ready to move on to their next project. After all the studio is in the business of making a profit and considering several years of work and development are invested to bringing such a title to market it only makes sense for such project to be financially worthwhile that the first couple of years all development and new content results in profits for the studio. I think the modding will be opened up after Kunos is through with the game and producing new content.

As an ACC player, my main worry is that ACE will fix some of the problems ACC has but then it might not be as competitive friendly as ACC is. Driver swaps (multiple player teams), the weather system, in game procedure (how the races start) are the points I think have to be changed from ACC.

I don't think GT3 representation is going to be an issue for those that like ACC. It really doesn't take that many cars to replicate a modern up to date GT3 grid. And from a business perspective it would be weird for Kunos to ignore that class. There wouldn't be a roster of all the different GT3s of the last 6 years of SRO GT3. But most won't care about that. There will also finally be the possibility of having prototypes in multiclass races. As long as AC Evo doesn't go backwards in features, and I don't see why it would, I see it being a place for ACC players.

I think it's a bit too much to ask from a primarily track racing sim game. Open world/semi-open world maps take so much effort and if they use the same amount of detail shown in these screenshots it'd eat into the development time of several other tracks probably. AI traffic would be a good built in feature deffo tho, and modders will come along and make the open world maps anyway I reckon some maps will be big and openish like black cat county in AC1 tho

Does anyone know if the Civic FK2 Type R will be in the game? I have it modded in the original AC and some swedish tracks aswell. Its really mindblowing how realistic AC is. My best lapp time in the fk2 Type R at Kinnekulle Ring ingame was a few hundreds of a second off from my IRL best Lap time. Also those modds are relly well done. I got a better lap time now in the game. But my last irl trackday was on regular street tires. Im running semi slicks now so should be faster next time. :D

If gran Turismo wasn’t dead already then the moment this comes out it absolutely will be. I’ve seen posts stating it’s 1000% coming to console ps5, series x just possible a slight delay like the dlc comes a bit after for console. The only way polyphony can compete is to completely ditch the current game engine. Build a totally new game engine, have all upto date 2024 cars/race cars, full damage physics and visible damage, full weather, full day night time choice, radically different handling physics, actual sound recording of each car not the hoover sounds we have now. Is that likely no polyphony will put out the same sh@t we got with gt7 which will fail and be horse sh1t.

the first mistake was comparing them each other as even competitors. they serve a totally different purpose and audience. GT7 is a arcade-simulator while ACC is a "hardcore" simulator. People that make fast lap times in GT7 would simply crash when they jump into ACC. GT7 is really easy to begin with. U get ur PS5, u get the game and u can go. ACC needs more time to set up and needs WAY longer to learn until u start to be a good driver. And especially for people who invest real money into a sim rig, its way better in the long run. And there are many people out there that dont like to drive real simlators. They like easier, more arcade style handling. Thats why Forza and GT7 have such a big player base (alltough Forza is the worst modern racing game)

This game is tough because it has to be a definitive improvement to assetto corsa to not be absolutely destroyed in the reviews. It will also split the community if it isn't great. They have an extremely hard bar to beat. I have confidence they will release something good, just not necessarily that it will be better than the first sim.

I suspect that at first, there will be no modding available.. but down the road, perhaps towards the end of EVO's life cycle, they will open it up. Allowing mods right out the gate could seriously damage revenue potential as mentioned in the video. I just want an updated visual and tire physics experience (ok, enhanced AI, a great career mode, great single and multiplayer experience, etc..) For me, modding takes a back seat (see what I did there?) Let's hope it releases in a much better state than ACC did!

in aN interview one of the devs hinted that chances are high that they will give us backwards compatibility with old mods. so we can use our old car mods from AC in AC Evo. And he meantioned that modders for AC are their baseline for quality that they want to achieve in AC Evo (and going beyond) His direct talking about modders and praising them for keeping AC alive really sounds that they will think of us and support us. And i agree, probabaly we dont see modding support for cars and tracks until every last Add-On by Kunos got released. Until then things like paint, livery, sounds etc. and weather can (probabaly) be modded. And after the last add on we probabaly get full access to car and track mods. (that would make the most sense when talking about making money)

AC and ACC are great sims, but are both rubbish as single-player games (ditto AMS2 and RaceRoom), so unless ACE somehow breaks that particular simracing tradition, it won't even begin to compete with Gran Turismo.

Of course... Why would you buy a better version of the original Assetto Corsa with more cars and an ACTUAL CAREER MODE? Instead you demand Kunos to include a feature that makes them lose money... Mods on day 1 should never be a feature... Also the original Assetto Corsa has HORRIBLE multiplayer support... I'm not only buying this, I'm pre ordering 100%

I was wondering - this is the second time I see Kireth driving in a sim and frankly his driving seems terrible. I mean amateur first time on track terrible (I've seen him driving at LeMans and his lines were way off, using half of the tracks width just as he does at Bathurst). And then I see links for coaching. Am I missing something?
