I just got the game 2 days ago and I'm already halfway through the main menus (story quests). Also halfway done with the last license tests, but the faster cars are getting more difficult to handle

Do you think driving on VR is a disadvantage? Like seeing your break and throttle inputs seems like a massive benefit or is it something you get used to anyway?

I don’t think it would make much of a difference. If you need to see where your throttle and break are at on your wheel+pedal set or controller play with it off for a bit. You’ll get the feel for where your at on the throttle without the indicator’s.

@@Covkiv thanks. It's bit silly question in retrospect. I'm in A+ now. I don't think there's really disadvantage to race in VR. Yellow flags should have a warning on hud.

Please do the video on punters the penalty system, and when and now the invisibility works in sports mode we just need a baseline to understand. Nothing explains how it works.

I'm a very casual player, will never have the space for a full sim set-up so I am stuck with using a controller. Glad you acknowledged that some of us will "only" be using controllers, how disadvantaged are we to people with full steering-wheel and pedal set-ups or should we be expecting to be able to achieve similar lap times?

I typically drive on the dark parts entering a corner I've started doing what you're saying and doing. I feel more comfortable in manual because when I was racing in midnight club I would down shift into 2 for corners. But I've had to retrain myself. For me bleeding off the brakes into corner is something difficult for me.

I just started playing and the braking zones are a nightmareeee! I don’t understand what I need to be doing. I’m also using a controller …someone please tell me how to master braking around corners on a controller 😭

I had a hard time with this also just recently did the switch to wheel though, anyway go to settings and change the braking assist to a braking area which shows it on the track and can be easily misread to braking indicator I think that one shows on your HUD and you’ll notice it start turning red the closer you come to the brake zone, this has helped me learn the braking zones and where to find the markers on the track.

Braking! Braking! Braking! PLEASE. I have a ton of money sitting here collecting dust because of the brakes feel nothing like my daily. I know they’re not supposed to but how do I use them? It’s either not enough brake or way too much.

You’re the best my friend!! The trail braking bit will help a lot. I was a little confused about it to be honest. For some reason on the daily’s my first lap is always my fastest lap. From there it’s down hill. I’m a decent driver. I have a D driver rating (working on it) and a S sportsmanship rating. We’re all racing to have fun right?? I always let drivers go if I know they are faster. I’m not going to ruin someone’s race because I’m trying to hold someone up. If been sim racing in some fashion for 25 years. My driver rating in sport was an A and a S but I can’t seem to get there with GT7. Thanks for the tips!! I’m going to check out your sight and maybe get you to help with building on my skills.

If people need guidance on the race line, corner entry and exit, they will never be good. This borders on humoring poor racers. Also blasts through lesmo 1 and 2. Two of the trickiest right handers at Monza, where you can save buckets of time, depending on speed.
