So beautiful sceneries.... I hope Kiribati specially South Tarawa will reclaim many land in the near future, like what now happening in Manila Bay......... Sands are abundant in Tarawa Atoll ocean floor....

@@temwaikuI heard that Kiribati doesn't have too many vegetables? That's true?

@@HepatitisB2 True. We can’t grow potatoes, carrots, etc. What we can grow is scarce, e.g pumpkin, cucumber and leafy greens. We rely on frozen and fresh vegetables if available.

Mauri!!!! Its been 20 years ago when visited Kiribati. I recognize many of the Villages mention in the Video,...it looks more populated and lot of Cars on the streets...and many more new Stores...I remember there was a Chines shop on Lagoon Side while going from Biknibeu To Betio.....Would love to see vlog on Super Market......There is a very big supermarket with high roof in Betio Island. The year i visited its Owner of the supermarket had passed away overseas. His body was bought in the same plane I Boarded to left the Country.....Gilberts is my favorite Language and sadly I haven't learnt it......🥰😇😍🤩😘....

@@HARPREET.SINGH. Mauri. Glad the video brings back memories of your trip to Kiribati. The shop on the lagoon must be the Wishing Star who now owns the mall in Bairiki. Moels is the shop in Betio. Yes, Kiribati has changed, shops, cars, etc. Tekeraoi

Can you prepare a video of grocery shops to see what are things available for shopping? This will be helpful for tourists or people visiting Kiribati.

i been to Kiribati some 20 years ago. then the supermarket was to small , the one in Bairiki (Capital Town) was as big as an average More Supermarket in India. Most of the stuff was imported from Fiji, New Zealand and Nauru....being vegetarian I use to eat Bread, Cheese and Donuts only....would love to watch super Market Vlog.....

Hello good. First of all, excellent video. After watching it I had some doubts in my mind... At one point in the video you said that South Tarawa was very overpopulated and that there was land available in North Tarawa even though there were no basic services. So my question is: Why doesn't the government carry out works for the North and thus be able to relocate the population? Finally, I had another question that I saw in a news article. According to the reporter Kiribati faces a serious burden of diseases, especially leprosy and non-communicable diseases. Is that true? And if it is true, how does the population deal with these problems? Can hospitals handle it?

@@HepatitisB2 Sorry I’ve just seen this message. I guess the answer is like any big cities in the world, people like to live there. These people have their own land in the outer islands but chose to live here. The government tried different incentives to attract people to return. I don’t really know much about the health problems mentioned but I know that we are fortunate to have a free health system. After covid, people are more educated in hygiene, etc. but it’s the lifestyle that causes the health problems. You could say, Kiribati is a third world country so the same goes with the hospital. I hope I answered your questions. Thank you,

I always enjoy your videos but please tell us how do climate change like rising sea level affect the people of Kiribati? If it was possible i would like to retire there. Looking forward to the next video. Stay safe.

@@montenell7940 The people of Kiribati are oblivious toward climate change. Only people who build by the sea are affected during king tides. South Tarawa is overpopulated so people build where they can as there is no vacant land. North Tarawa and the outer islands have plenty space to live if you don’t mind the basics, food, services, etc. I guess the most challenging for expatriate here is food. We relied heavily on imported foods which can run out at times. Thank you. Kind regards
