Unrecognisable to me, I was there in the 1950's for the British Atomic Bomb Tests. It was Christmas Island then. Even so it was nice to it again.❤❤

So I ended up here because I wanted to find out where in the world it was Thursday already (Wednesday Detroit MI US where I am) and Kiritimati popped up on the world clock site. As usual, I googled it to find our more about the place and boom, your video showed up among the search results. I have to say, I watched the entire thing!! What an amazing place, looks like you guys had a transforming experience. Did you go as part of a foundation or something? And why did you go back home? I wouldn't, like seriously. One of the few Eden places left in the world untouched by concrete jungles and resorts. I will add this to my bucket list of places to visit when i can afford, the tickets are like 2600 a piece, which really isn't bad cause I have seen worse. Thanks for filming and thanks for showing that there is still heaven on earth.

Is this same as Kiribati-Christmas island..?

Kiritimati Island is in the Country of Kiribati 🇰🇮 in the Pacific. Kiritimati is also called Christmas Island but there's also ANOTHER Christmas Island (Australian) in the Indian Ocean I think. So this video Kiritimati aka Christmas Island in (Kiribati) is in the Pacific. The 2nd Christmas Island (Australian) is in the Indian Ocean.

Yes the British in the 50s and then the Americans in early 60s carried out Nuclear testing there. I was there in 1958 and saw 5 tests.

In what way did the fish poison you? Were the meds to deal with that? What should a visitor watch out for?

Is there a blog post or something that actually explains what we see in the video?

Thank you for your video! I think at 11:18, that is my Mom, Tetima. I haven't been back to the island, since I left when I was 5 years old. But 25 years later, I am going back to see my Mom! Your video has touched me. I am going there this month to check out her health and of course do some long overdue catching up, thank you for making a difference to my little island. xox

All that music totally took away from the interest of the video.

A true shame regarding the musical soundtrack - it takes away about 50% of the content, I would have loved to hear clips of the people speaking and the actual music being made played at the farewell party. :(
