Aging quarterback who has never been that mobile and won only one playoff game, coming off a significant season-ending injury, and signing him to $180m ($100m guaranteed) with a no-trade clause. Ok, the money I could possibly understand, but the no-trade clause? Bro, who do you think you are? But Cousins has been a master at leveraging the moment to get the most out of every deal. agree and somewhat disagree with this take: I just don't see Cousins as a starter anywhere next year tbh. and don't think there's many vikings fans or people in the organization who would even be a proponent of cousins starting even if JJ struggles. He's a less arm strength Mullens with even less mobility at this point and is giving last year peyton manning vibes where he just can't throw with NFL pace anymore... But Cousins does really know the playbook... so in theory cousins would be a good mentor/glorified coach who could come into a game and do ok if JJ gets banged up for a quarter or 2. (but he's probably burned too many bridges for the vikes to bring him back even at the min)... but it really wouldn't be the worst idea and prob help JJ bc there is no world where JJ would be looking over his shoulder worried about cousins taking his job more than any other back up really... now compare that to bringing in Rodgers whom some vikes fans have suggested as insurance. bringing in a presence like that could undermine JJ's development.
