My brother is 41, hasn't worked in 14 years and still lives at home with my mom. He went to college for a year or two but dropped out and then several years later, he quit his job and hasn't worked since then. If we (my other brother, our mom or myself) tell him anything about getting a job or finishing college, he gets an attitude. Now me, nor my other brother, try to help him or tell him anything about gutting himself together because my mom will get an attitude with us for telling him anything. She takes up, make excuses and enables him which is why he's like this in the first place. She also doesn't want any other family members to know this so she lies to them and acts like he is doing as good as me and my other brother are doing. So I told my other brother to let the chips fall where they may and just let him be. With no job experience in 14 years, no money saved, no bank account, no friends and a bad attitude towards his family (the only people who have helped him along the way), karma will get him. He will know how it feels to be treated like crap when he eventually has no choice except to work because bosses and coworkers won't tolerate the things that my mom does with him. They will have no problem telling him off or getting an attitude with him. It will be like a very hard slap in the face/jolt to the system to have to learn how to keep a job, keep a cool head, pay bills, cook for himself and just maintain on a daily as an older person who's never done this before. But that's the only thing you can do in situations like this........let them learn the hard way how they should've shown more respect to those who truly tried to help them along the way and how they should've gotten themselves together when they were younger and had a chance. Karma is the ultimate equalizer and I clearly see how hard he will have it. Then he'll want help from his siblings but we are not our mom and will not be there to further enable him like she has.
@moonsyoungestsun65503 жыл бұрын
@@mcole442 My mom is an enabler for my 41 year old brother so sometimes parents create their own monster. Then they act like they don't understand why that child can't get it together. You can read my comment above about the situation if you'd like. But overall, people like my brother, Kirk's son, Rickey Smiley's kids/nephews, etc. will learn the hard way down the line. Karma has a way of being a boomerang that can't be avoided. Eventually, all of that attitude, mooching, using and not showing respect will bite them hard in the ass.

I feel your pain and know it must've been hard for a good portion of your life. This is kind of long but I wish that my parents had been like your dad was because my brother is 41 and has nothing going for himself, including no job in 14 years......YES 14 YEARS. I have another brother also and we are both doing fine and have tried getting the other one to man-up but it's a waste of energy. I told him to just let him be and let the chips and karma fall wherever. He was given the opportunity to go to college like we were but he dropped out after a couple of semesters. Then quit his job years later and hasn't worked since then. He's bad with money (never had money saved, never maintained a bank account and never paid bills), no friends and a bad attitude if we bring up the word JOB to him. He also gets an attitude with my mom if she asks him to do certain things. But she acts like his situation is no big deal and even lies to family and friends if they ask about him. She makes it seem like he's doing as good as me and my other brother. I'm not bragging about how the two of us are doing because, trust me, we struggled to get what we have now. However, we took advantage of the opportunity to graduate from college, work and live at home for a while after graduating to save money and prepare for dealing with the harsh world. But my brother chooses to just mooch while my mom lets him. My parents divorced when we were young and my dad moved across the country a few years after it was finalized. He really didn't spend time or discipline him at all so it was all on my mom. But I feel like my brother is the type that needed someone like your dad in his life because look at how he turned out. My mom has enabled him into a 41 year old 10 year old. Matter of fact, some 10 year olds are doing mich better than him and don't have bratty, spoiled, entitled attitudes like my brother does. So maybe your dad was trying to avoid you turning out like this and this is the only way that he knew how to do it. Imagine if you were 45 and in my brother's situation. 😔

Thank you Rickey. Your comments are on target--Kirk did not need to apologize. Most of us have children that are grown and we are in very similar circumstances. We all pray for divine intervention with our children-many grown at that. We are all human. We support Kirk and family as well as Rickey.

@@cynthiajenkins6425 did you ever think its a reason his son acts the way he acts towards his dad. Rickey can't say for a fact that kirk was the best father on earth. It's funny how it has came out that he molested his son yet no one is addressing it. Where is Rickey smiley video about that??? Kirk hasn't said anything. Kerrions mother did a interview and she knows something happened between them but everyone praises him smgh

Anyone with kids has probably came out their character. Have it ever occurred to people some of these kids may be jealous of their parents. Most kids, who have celebrity parents appear to live in the shadow of their parents

I just now saw this, and it is so awesome, I had to watch it a couple more times. There’s just something about watching a grown man not only stand up for his friend, but also tell people to send him the smoke for awhile, especially when it’s someone famous.

At 33 I was married for 8 years, a homeowner for 7yrs and had my first child. I wish I would cry about not going on family vacations and being cut off financially from a single mother I never received a dime from once I moved out. This man child is entitled and it’s sad b/c a lot of us don’t have fathers let alone a father with means. I hope they can work it out.

Obviously obviously this guy has a lot of pain and I'm sure didn't stem from thin air shame on you guys only reason why y'all are defending Kirk because he famous just like the only reason why Donald Trump got a fanbase because he got money and that's why everybody was hollering about R Kelly didn't rape those girls because he and y'all are so stuck on money but this man has a real pain nobody would do that to that parents so something happened and Kurt me the owned the pain rather intentional or unintentional that he calls on his son. And you don't talk to your son like that he called that boy poor that was a direct slap in the face to say I got money and you don't know he didn't Lowdown Joker

Your flesh and blood will wrong you before a stranger would! Prayers to Kirk. Even if you come from a two parent household given everything you wanted these kids still can be ratchet!!
