Kirk Hammett is the best Metal Guitarist of all time! He doesn't rely on effects processors and pedals. He never uses the same riffs or sounds. His live playing is second to None! I Love it whe he has his guitar tech purposely keep All his guitars slightly out of tune. That makes it Awesome when Hammett and Hetfield play dueling solo riffs, and it sounds out of tune and sloppy....but in a good way!

Nikki Blakk It's so difficult to say who the best is. Kirk is my favorite, too. Then again, Chuck Schuldiner, Dime, and Randy Rhoads, are better technically, imo. Since Metallica broke my metal virginity in '89, Kirk has always been the man.

+Locoandchooch it's fun becouse gary on a video say about kirk teaching him how to play , i was in doubt so i ask directly to gary frist time i can and he gave me the same answare , actually gary's guitar teacher was kirk . gary say " you can spot on the way i use the pick, is the same as kirk and how i play scales " the living proof of this is salt the wound , on blood in blood out album , the solos are so close and similar ..make it hard to spot who play what.
