Why do some idiots think Shatner was a bad actor? He is a wonderful actor. May he live to 100.
@givmi_more_w9251

His performance is over the top sometimes, but that's due to his theater background. Patrick Stewart could also be very pompous at times, although not as exaggerated. I think most of the hate is because he is a strong personality who does not give a single shit whether he offends people or not, and alone for that, I cannot not like him. Some of Shatner's moments make me cringe, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he brought James Kirk to life. He is entertaining, and has some hilarious 'WTF' expressions.

That's the envious people, who have never done a crap in their lives and criticize to those ones who have done a lot. I love him, and so to Leonard Nimoy.

Few say he's a bad actor, its very on par with the norms of the era. The knock is he was petty and controlling in TOS.

He was a Shakeperean actor, a theatre background.

I don't like him because he's a Narcisisst. But that's his person, not the acting. His acting is sometimes exaggerated because of theater background, he's not the greatest actor, he's ok in my opinion.

Me too. It was so beautiful, my father used to say, so many nations and people from other planets reunited in that ship to discover other worlds. And he said he was hoping for that to become real. The first program to have the beautiful Lt. Uhura, Nichelle Nichols was the first black American woman to be in a cast with only white actors. Doesn´t that tell you a lot?

The whole death and funeral scene, both Shatner and Nimoy should won an Academy Award for. I was fortunate to see the Wrath of Khan on opening night in the theater, people were bawling their eyes out. I don't think that there was a dry eye anywhere in that packed place. Two of the greatest actors of our time.

I will grant his critics that Shatner isn't Laurence Olivier. But then too, neither are they. Star Trek isn't Shakespeare and it never pretended to be. Shut up with the stage comparisons and enjoy it for what it is - entertainment for everyone.

0:11 Spock's face of trying not to react to kirks excitement seeing him and 0:20 Spock keeps on walking . Poor Kirk 🤣 0:44 Kirk say I need him. 2:11 only Kirk could wake Spock up from being uncouncious 🤣 3:09 #spirk moment 5:03 if this isn't Spock confessing he will follow Kirk to the ends of space I don't know star trek then 5:20 the pure pain of realizing Spock was dying on the other side even hurt me while watching it 6:22 the fact Spock was losing his vision yet was still trying to face Kirk 😭 7:37 this will always make me cry 😭 8:46 he pretty much sums up what Spock meant to him and the enterprise 9:23😭 I wanted to hug Kirk so bad 12:29-12:44 Kirk was that a cofession? 14:32 this scene makes me cheer hallelujah. 15:13 proof Spock and kirk's friendship will last forever as soon as he said his first name 15:38 when Spock didn't call Kirk Jim it hurt 🥺 19:08 "one damn minute admiral" had me rolling on the floor laughing 🤣 20:03-20:05 as soon as Kirk falls Spock does a nose dive. That's some serious commitment. 20:42 I'm serious I wanted to scream for Spock to say something to Kirk. That was the most depressing thing Kirk ever said!! 21:25 Spock pretty much chose Kirk over his own brother. 22:33 Spock and Kirk both lost a brother.(I'm not forgetting Kirk lost his son but you get my point) #SPIRK 💛X💙

That was not the same. He wasn't lying. He was saying he didn't face a death that hit him that hard. Spock & Kirk's friendship was thicker than blood so he truly hadn't faced a death that meant that much to him. Even his own son dying by Klingon hands didn't hit him as hard.
@jaden_skywalker

he certainly was distraught, however, as the saying goes 'blood runs thicker than water'. The original meaning of it is that the blood on the battlefield is more true than the bonds from the water of the womb. Spock's death completely broke him.

I always find it a disappointment to see that people are quick to heap praise on the Actors (And yes, I agree the acting is excellent) but have no praise at all for the writers...without the people who provide the scenarios, there would be no Star Trek. The actors are only as good as the material provided to them by the writers.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few". There two things that make this untrue. First, it is not Logic that would 'dictate' this claim; Logic has virtually nothing to do with with personal morality or with any ethical collective. Second, the on- going state of any civilization makes this claim either grossly mismanaged or completely inaccurate, or simply patently untrue.

The Voyage Home and The Final Frontier were such unpleasant movies with all the profanity which was so unnecessary and did not reflect the characters as they were played on the original Star Trek series. The passage of time still would not allow them to start using profanity. They would have immediately recognized that type of speech, at least the more serious profanity, as inappropriate.

Spock was physically resurrected and his mind was restored from another's body. He reeducated himself in the Vulcan manner while integrating a human personality. He expressed himself almost as a child with a new mind. They were just words. Lighten up. We probably couldn't understand 23rd century profanity, humans have oaths. Profanity was used, sparingly, in the original series.
