2016 Rx 450h Family Review | The Best Rx

The 2016-2018 RX 450h is my favorite iteration of th RX. It helps that this particular model was fully loaded. It's a great well-rounded vehicle for any family with 1-3 children. If you have more, then the RX 350L / 450hL is a better bet.

I have a 2010 RX hybrid. You can literally drive and drive hundreds of miles on this thing and still being fresh. Very enjoyable and relaxing in city drive as well. One of the best family cars, it really ticks all the boxes.

The interior colour isnt a fault with the car but the person who ordered it, Red looks good with the Silver if you're brave enough!

It actually switches from Atkinson to Otto cycle depending on throttle and load. With the planetary electronically controlled cvt, it makes for an efficient, ultra smooth and reliable motor. Possibly the most under rated and best suv on the market.

Hey Kirk! When a client is looking to buy now April 2024 but lookig at models going back to 2016, would your opinion be different? Such as, maybe avoid getting the hybrid used because at some point they will have to be replaced or they begin to die or there are more things that can go wrong.

@@KirkKreifels the only thing that keeps me from getting the GX is fuel economy. Premium fuel and the 15mpg just sounds so hideous. But the car itself an an absolute masterpiece. The use of the third row and 'trunk' space is questionable.

is it possible to update the infotainment system from this 2016-2019 model into the 2020 model ? I mean not changing into a touchscreen but having all these new features of the NAV system 11.0 ? would be a huge step up for these older models !!!

My 2016 RX infotainment system is the most frustrating thing about the car. The voice command did not have any machine learning so miscommunication is comical

Should I lease a 2022 RX 450h for $499 with $3999 down and possibly buy it at the end of lease if we like it or should I buy a 2018 RX 450h for $38999 with 51k miles LOADED with panoramic sunroof etc, etc..???

depends how much driving you do. if you drive it alot then I would finance. also if you plan on buying it at the end of lease you might as well finance otherwise your paying alot more in the end if your buying it after the lease. if you like to change vehicles every 2-4 years then i would lease or if you can write it off as a business expense like if your a real estate agent then leasing is the way to go.
