@@ragingphoinix9144 They may last longer, but what makes you say they clean better? Every review outlet I've seen that actually tests stain removal in the SpeedQueen TC5 shows that it's *Severely* lacking in cleaning performance... I mean, it makes sense, SQ's are designed to be marketed to people who are not using the machine for their own laundry and only care about longevity and time between service. An apartment building manager could give two sh*ts whether the machine cleans well, it just needs to accept quarters, let a lot of water flow in, make a lot of noise for 30 minutes, and then spin (slowly). We just bought the dryer that matches this unit. Didn't think to research the washer. When my 25 year old Whirlpool finally gets too costly to repair will probably look for something else. Would like to see the typical scenario of throwing one day's worth of work uniform, socks and undies. This is normally a extra small setting. This washer looks like it would be fine for people that always have full loads. If I had one of these available I would run it against my 25 year old machine and compare the total gallons used on the home's water meter. I would also measure how much energy is actually used. Would be an interesting comparison between a old machine that could be set to extra low vs auto sense. This auto sense appears to be pretty lame. I may just keep buying old cheap machines at auctions. My 10 year old whirlpool dryer got too costly to fix, paint wore off and is rusting. Oddly enough the 25 year old washer is still perfectly fine. They don't make them the same even though sometimes they try to make them look the same.

Commercial laundry detergents contain chemicals that are so bad for your clothes and even worse for your health. Making your own detergent is so easy. Give it a try. I don't understand why others are complaining about the water level. Everyone I know who owns a so called efficient machine complains about the machine not having enough water to get the clothes clean and they have to run every load on the bulky items setting to get enough water to clean the clothes. My machine has somehow gotten off cycle where it starts agitating right away instead of waiting for it to fill. Back to searching videos to see if I can figure out how to reset it.

This machine senses how much water to fill by weight. If I put less than 3 pounds in the machine then whatever I have in there is treated like a big, bulky 2 pound comforter. I did a small, 4 pound load in the washer this morning, and the machine did just fine with the amount of water added...not a full tub of water but enough water to wet the clothes thoroughly. I have a video on my channel with that small load running in the machine plus another video detailing the ins-and-outs of this machine.

I got my Whirlpool washer today, just like this one. I am surprised at how little water it used for a medium load. Didn’t really get far up the agitator. However, it was just enough and the clothes came out nice and clean. In fact, cleaner than my moms front load Samsung cleans them. And the cycle ran around 30-40 minutes. For most light duty stuff auto sensing will work fine but if the clothes are very dirty (like my work uniforms) it’s probably better to use the deep fill. Haven’t had the chance to try it yet but I will soon.

A small, simple washer that gets clothing clean. I've found larger capacity washers can get torn up by large unbalanced loads.
@oreotcat7 жыл бұрын
Maybe try it with just like 3 shirts to see if it makes a difference? While this does seem to have a bit more water than necessary, these agitators were not designed for HE use anyway. It's nice that they brought them back but they can be harsh on clothes in low water levels. It's really the bottom fins that cause the most problem. The HE agitators have more rounded fins.

If I get an High Efficiency washer now, then I would get this one. Set it on “Auto-Sensing” with this amount of clothing inside the tub, it looks like it will still fill the tub with almost the same amount of water as the older belt-drive/direct-drives did before only now, it will just take a little longer to complete a cycle (which is something I miss with the older direct-drives. These new belt-drives take at over an hour-and-a-half to complete a cycle/load whereas an older direct-drive can complete a cycle/load in just an half-an-hour). And when these break down, do I need to call in a repairman and fix my machine? With an older direct-drive, I can pretty much repair my own machine in an hour at least, and I can expect for my machine to last 15-20 years. It’s the quick aspect is what I miss most out of the older direct-drive machines. Maybe now, this video here can change my mind and convert me over. -Charles-
@dalejones19432 жыл бұрын
You would be making a BIG MISTAKE getting rid of a washer with direct drive!!! As you stated you can work on it yourself " if" you need to! I just waited forever for a washer to fill when the salesman push for it to sense the amount of water for 5 to 6 shirts ( medium load) and it filled extra large! The tub looks like it has alot of movement, too much!!! I think it should have a see through lid, do not like lids that lock for safety reasons!!! I'm keeping my Whirlpool washer direct drive!!!

If you are seeing this much water for a small load of clothes, try running the "clean washer" cycle with an empty drum. The sensor should recalibrate during this cycle. Also, I do have the same washing machine. The first thing I did when I got the washer was run the "clean washer" cycle before doing laundry. I took a peek during the wash cycle, with my first load of laundry, and can confirm that the water level was about halfway up the tub on a "normal" cycle with a medium load. That said, the sensor appears to be doing its job. And FYI: the machine will fill deep, regardless of load size, on the "super wash" cycle.

From the manual: Use this cycle to soak small spots of set in stains of fabrics. The washer will use intermittent agitation and soaking. after the time has expired, water will drain, but the washer "will not spin". Cycle is complete. if you wish To set a follow-up cycle, (open the lid then close first) , then select Drain & Spin. If you want the load spin dried (open and close the lid at the end of each cycle so it will clear and prepare for the next) then if desired add additional detergent , and select a cycle based on fabric type.

Hello can you give me some advice on the whirl pool model number WTW4955HW1? I recently moved in these apartments and the washer is literally new out the box. Although the Auto Sensing doesn't sense exactly. For example if I was to put a comforter in the washer it doesn't fill up all the way. Meaning only half of the comforter gets wet. I would actually have to get a pot or something to add extra water in the washer in order for the comforter to get entirely wet. Please help this is very annoying. Of course the washer is in the apartments name so I can't call a technician out.

Bought new. 4 months. Auto Sen zing has never worked. Get full load every wash. 4 face mask in to wash today. Full load water. I use more detergent and water with this machine. I despise the machine

Hey Kirk why is it filling so slowly

Using this washer has been a frustrating experience!, when you set it for autosensing for a medium load the water level will be filled up almost to the top!! It's such a waste of water, soap, energy and time. And no, I'm not opening the lid during the sensing cycle, I check the water level when the washing starts and l can see all my clothes just swimming, they don't rub against each other so the wash is not effective. If someone knows how to trick it to get less water please let me know, thanks!

I need to look at the model and serial tag, it should give a kw rating. Send a reminder comment on Monday, I'll check for you.

Mine won't fill up with that much water even with the "deep water wash" setting on. Local service guy says that's the way it's supposed to be for "conservation". This video says that's a lie. What is wrong with my machine?

I need another 32 gig memory card or a 64 gig. The old school P2 memory cards are expensive. I'll put it on my Christmas wish list.

+Kirk Rivas Ok then. Hopefully you'll get more space then for some more Washer videos. What would be cool though is if you were running 2 Washers at the same time and seeing which one would start spinning first. Right?

+Kirk Rivas Well, do you want to try that someday having 2 Washers and making some videos of 2 Washers going at the same time?

@@kirkrivas8172 Nice Wash!! I’m actually will be getting this washer. Can you do a Quick Wash cycle with deep water wash, including warm rinse on this washer please! I would like to see how it washes action on its quick wash cycle..

Large load so it makes sense that it filled up all the way but for small loads it doesn’t make sense. Or they did not put a water level sensor they just say that to advertise.
