One thing I learned early as a driving instructor, you can’t teach anything meaningful to someone you just unloaded on. That and how to get skid marks out of my jocks lol. Nice Kraken - enemy not as bad as you think, the Hand of Stalin affects dispersion in both directions. On PC tiers 1-4 are protected so t5 (Kirov/Omaha etc..) was first time you got to play with the grown ups, which meant +/-2 matchmaking and t5 could almost never be top tier. Best you could hope for was a mostly T5 game with a few T6. Kirov was mostly meh, occasionally ok and once every 20 games when you got T5 MM, it was a beast. We have much more generous matchmaking, it makes a huge difference. Budyonny had a rep for being a tank, and it saw T8 (Tirpitz etc...) all the time, will bounce 380mm with ease. Long range HE spam, with AP to punish stupids. Turns like a stock Awoi and can be seen from near earth orbit. Really good torps also. With our matchmaking I think the Budyonny will be more AP focused. I also think it will be best cruiser in game, including premiums.

Just unlocked it today. Like it so far. Been finding more enjoyment from DD's for weeks. This makes me want to play cruisers again (De Grasse was my most played ship, recently eclipsed by T-61 my current favorite). I wish they included armor layout in legends. You called it a glass cannon though by stats it has thickest armor for a cruiser (tech tree at least) at tier 4. But that depends on how much 150mm armor it has and where. But it bow tanks well enough against other cruisers. Haven't had any monster games ( only a few played) but I've survived and won most if not all and get ok damage. But in tier 4 max games there's not much in the way of team play/tactics. Plenty of ships just charge across the map.

Changing the commander made so much difference. I had Makarov but changed it to the one your running but he was only rank 8. The first game, sunk 3 ships with 8 citadels. Wow. TY for the information!

Nicely done I had the same kind of game two days ago I was in the Jean Bart I blind fired into a smoke screen at a Belfast and I had 79 hit points left and we both killed each other at the same time and on my team we had an Atago against Jarvis and we won

I would recommend running intuitive on all the RU cruisers. Knowing the direction of the nearest enemy can be a life saver. With the 13mm plating you don't want to be caught flat footed because you won't bounce any shells. Even destroyer ap will wreck you. For inspiration you should probably go with mikawa and lemmonier. Stealth will help a lot on these ships. You dont need scott. The guns are already frickin rail guns. Yamamoto is not ideal either since you should be spamming he at long range. The ap is for those rare moments when a broadside is in close and is adequate without the extra pen.

Thank God I'm not the only one who noticed. Since this update dropped I've been getting nothing but kids snackin on lead paint chips all game. Even the matchmaking is broken at times, i had a Tier 5 3v3 this morning and a Tier 4 2v2 yesterday. Wuhh??

I can only go by the tons of time of playing I've done on PC version... it maybe different for the Games consoles? But if you use only AP to shoot a cruiser, you will in most cases do almost no damage to it. I use both Battleships in games and Cruisers and every time I fight a cruiser with either of those ships I always use HE shells against Destroyers and Cruisers as they have far lighter thinner Armour than battleships? The HE sets battleships on fire if hitting the decks or super structure, But they must have AP to damage them due to their thick belt Armour, But Cruisers must always be shot by HE shells. Even the online guides state this as the best way to sink the lighter armored ships like Cruisers and Destroyers as the AP shells just fly through the hulls with almost no damage unlike HE which explode inside the hull and set fires which will explode the shell magazines if not put out. So you and others may differ on what I said? But I played for some time now and can only as said go by the results of many battles against many types of ships.
