I have a suggestion to fix your DIY pedestals-washing tape! It is available in different colors and widths so you can choose to find a color that matches the base color or a contrast color that will make an accent edge! Both will address your concerns over the edges.

I always love your apartment updates and new add on. I just got some stripe curtains as well, so similar to yours from pottery barn. I got the light brown stripes and they are so perfect. The blackout vibe has me sleeping better since I work night shifts
