My dear you are "trop modeste"! (I noticed you have a good French accent :) One thing I don't like about the English style when it's over the top is the mix of too many patterns and colours that ( in my opinion) clash together and make me dizzy, to me it's the Big defect of some English decorating. Too many patterns (stripes + flowers + chintz, etc + too many colours and mismatched.) You are much more classic and subdued in your approach, more continental I guess? Your wonderful attic room for instance has lovely colours but nothing that clashes, every colour is tasteful and goes with everything else. It's English style at its "simplest" and most elegant for me. Like Robert Kine style. It has a clacissism about it even if it's definitely English in style.

I enjoyed seeing the cottage, especially the original parts of the building. I'm always struck by how you have buildings that survive from the 16th century and before. I live in Ohio in the United States, and anything here from the first quarter of the nineteenth century is considered to be amazingly old. Anyway, great video and I enjoy your channel so very much.

I have to admit Kirsten , the kitchen was my favorite room ! I love what we Americans call " granny Smith green , and that kitchen was close to that color . The kitchen was absolutely beautiful . Agreed. It's been bad since the 1950's on. I do like some of ours from the 1920's and 30's but because of the cost of building materials, everything nowadays is just a lifeless box. If I were building my own house, I'd put a lot of beautiful salvaged things in to give warmth and character.

That curved kitchen was so unique, I'd never seen one like that before, it's such an interesting way to use space. You hear of things being a feast for the eyes, and the playful colors and charm of this cottage exemplify this expression. When I think of England this is what I see in my minds eye.
