Yes, I'm new to this artwork, you have to learn how to blend, when to blend, and how much to blend, but it's lots of fun.

Definitely! It takes a bit of time and practice to get used to it, but it's a lot of fun 😊

I started in black and white, I used mostly graphite because I drew a lot during school hours and that was what I had with me. So color came much later as well as white paper, because of drawing in school my earlier drawing are on checked paper *lol* It makes me laugh till today when I see my checked horses :O))))) I really like thes orchids, they are stunning.

Yes, definitely! My frustration with colour led me to only using black and white for a long time, and I don't regret it! It taught me a lot 😊

I got a good colored pencil set, but this video was a change in perspective - going to try going to good old black and white. Thank you :)

It's worth trying, you'll definitely learn things that you can apply to your coloured pencil drawings 😊

Awesome video! Thanks for the tips! The orchids are stunning. Did you use solvent to blend the background in the end?
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome 😊 No, just charcoal and blending with cotton tip

Are colored pencils and pastel pencils?

Hi, I can’t locate the patreon link. Please advise 🙏

Hi, I have created the KR Fine Art Academy, a better (and cheaper) alternative to Patreon! You still get access to the library of tutorials but it's much more user friendly than Patreon is 😊 www.kirstyrebeccafineart.com/krfineartacademy

I want a drawing video, fully made with Derwent pastel pencils because i want to know how good they are. The second reason is i have just ordered them......
@KirstyRebeccaFineArt3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't have any plans in the near future to do a tutorial with just the Derwent! The Derwent pastel pencils are pretty decent, but I find the wood barrel tends to split when you sharpen them (it's pretty inconsistent throughout the colours too - sometimes it's really soft and easy to sharpen, and other pencils will split) The colours are decent, but I prefer the colour range in the Faber Castell Pitt Pastels or Carbothello All that being said, they're still a great pencil that you can definitely use instead of the other brands
