This whole idea of despiration pushing somebody to create something worse than the Daleks is amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if the Time Lords tried to scoop some Kiseibya into the Time War.

Palpatine did once say in "The Essential Guide to the Force" that, and I'm paraphradin here, if you are to create a monster, make sure you can control that monster, like he did with Darth Vader. He even blamed himself for his own death at the 2nd Death Star because he underestimated his apprentice's leftover Humanity.

I think things like the Kiseibya make for very interesting monsters and possible enemies to deal with, seeing as they're a non-Timelord creation to try and fight the Daleks that actually has the ability to fill the desired purpose, while of course having that ultimate danger of becoming a runaway cataclysmic force much like the Daleks themselves. They're an example of a world larger than simply the Time Lords and Daleks fighting each other, of others reacting to the vast horrors of either one side and flailing to defend themselves, inadvertently creating monsters much like what they were trying to survive.

Agreed. It’s one of the things that I don’t like about the recent series of Doctor Who and the direction the show has gone in general. I HATED the return of the Time Lords and even more so the justification for it.

The concept of the Kiseibya sound so terrifying to me, I love it!

I feel there is a lot of potential in someone taking the intital concept of the Kiseibya and expanding them into a universal threat. Where we have a scenario featuring both the Doctor and the Daleks being forced into beccoming alies. Additionally. The fact you have a Japanese scientist involved puts me in mind of all the weird and wonderful Kaijin you get in Tokusatsu series. Like the Worms from Kamen Rider Kabuto. Or Doras from ZO.

While they may have been a threat on Bliss itself they were not capably of interplanetary travel. Therefore eventually the Daleks would simply have sterilised Bliss from orbit. A minor inconvenience to the overall Dalek empire, nothing more.

Well, remember how the Daleks in their original story were just a group of static electricity powered mutants in cans confined to one city on a dead planet.

it kinda sounds like the Kiseibya were made with love as oppose to the Dalek's hate-filled creation, yet still resulted in a similar problem. now I wanna listen to this story.

I like that the Daleks have their own version of Parallel Evolution, kinda - the Kiseibya and Red Rocket Rising being probably the best examples.

Dalek Bumps 5.31K subscribers Even though I have never before listened to the entire Big Finish audio "Enemy of Daleks" (because finding a free no cost audio stories are hard to come by on the internet in my opinion), but I have listened to the sample audio you've uploaded showing the Daleks having an extremely DEADLY and UNPLEASANT first contact with the Kiseibya. Personally, I think the Kiseibya would be the perfect enemy for the Daleks to fight against in TV, rather than the Cybermen all the time.

I feel like the Cybermen should oppose the Dalek's logical side, while the Kiseibya oppose their predatory instinctual side.

I had a while to think about it, and now in all honesty.. I fully agree that the Kiseibya have the potential of being a recurring villain on par with the Daleks, Cybermen, Wheeping angels & Sotarans. Essentially, The Kiseibya represent the destructive effects of weoponzing nature. How abusing it carelessly can lead to a volatile threat, near impossible to understand once unleashed, with no realistic deterrences. As no matter how well thought out a strategy is, you can never fully predict nature. It knows everything by instinct, it will kill us. I think what can serve as a secondary theme is evolution. In comparison, Cybermen are always advancing technologically, while in contrast, the Daleks essentially stagnate, only advancing when absolutely forced to. The Kiseibya are literally always biologically evolving, If Daleks are a infectus viral plague, The Kiseibya are a corrupting cancer. Their family tree would be a Hallstrom of splintering factions, species, sub-species, mutants, hybridization, etc. Anything everything will happen to keep themselves alive, they are literally limited only by their predators and food sources. ( and the ocean of cosmic, nothing that is space)

I really enjoyed Enemy of the Daleks and the Kiseibya where an interesting species. Not sure how you could make them return and add to their lore. As Enemy pretty much covered everything about them. I also love the heavy guitar music used for the daleks, really nice. I love how the Black Dalek becomes sort of an unintentional hero. Its something i would like to see again the Daleks actually being say unintentional hero's or actually having to save the universe just to conquer it later. My only negative of enemy of the daleks was ace. Ace of this time i didn't enjoy she's mainly just shouting and being angry. This is really apparent in light of Skaro, where most of her scenes are shouting and it really doesn't do the character justice.

Despite the Kiseibya being defeated by the Doctor and the Daleks, they ironically had the potential to surpass and become a greater threat to both had they had advanced intelligence or the chance to evolve long enough to be space faring or even be a time travelling species due to how fast they evolved and assimilated human speech. They could very well be the exact but equally evil opposite of the Daleks and Cybermen. Unlike the Daleks who constantly destroy for the sake of genetic purity and the Cybermen who see emotion as bad. Both are reliant on "upgrading" and technology, the Kiseibya organically welcome any gene, trait, and culture, just by being a predator that wants to eat as long as it ensures survival and a way to thrive based on instinct rather than xenophobic hatred or emotionless logic. An equally evil concept in that nothing is sacred to the Kiseibya and anything is fair game as long as it wins. They think in ways that the Daleks are too stiff in their philosophy to commit to. Had the Doctor not ended their threat to the universe, the Kiseibya could have very well turned into something very much akin to the Xenomorphs, Flood, or Tyranids of the Whoniverse something even worse than both Daleks and Timelords in the time war if left the chance to fester and grow. And to top off the irony, the Kiseibya were created by a human, the very race that the Doctor has always tried to protect but is also known for terrible acts of evil as well. Also considering the Daleks were based on the the Nazis and the Cybermen were based on the Soviets and Communists, the Kiseibya being created by a Japanese human, kind of fits the themes of Britain's fears that set the foundation of Doctor Who's villains.

I seem to remember professor shimura actually telling his first born keysabia to put eggs in him? He was one messed up dude. Enemy of the Daleks is awesome. Dark and twisted. The 7th doctors at his mercurial best in it. I will say on another matter...I'm not really digging the amount of non who related media being used in this one? The starship troopers stuff was pretty clever and on point but seeing jurassic park and transformers just kinda...took me out of it. But excellent video nonetheless.
