If I'm not mistaken, and whether true or mythological, Kishmul was a Pirate King. By the way, the movie clips show a ship far better equipped than the song, in which "Neither hoop nor yard, anchor, cable nor tackle has she" and this bold crew nevertheless brings her home to dock! It is a very heroic song.

You may wonder how a wild island in the far Hebrides gets "Red Wine, and feast for heroes". The same place as the poorer people in lovely wind Cornwall did. Piracy! My favorite singing group, in a Cornish song, wanted to change "spaniards" to "pirates". I told them NO, the Cornish common folk had big objections to the old Spanish empire, and none at all to pirates.
