They made a multitude of vocal errors in that performance so it wasn’t fake.

The tracking layers are referred to as the "Phyllis" tracks. He get's a whole bunch of help mate. This means that he weaves in and out of a single track. The entire band is now using tracks now days. @@patrickjackman8688

that's not how the system they are running works. Paul uses what they call "Phyllis Tracks." Phyllis is his old nickname and alter ego from way back. Anyway the tracks come and go throughout the course of a song. If you were next to him? You'd swear he was singing because is literally shouting into the mic but what you might see and hear is definitely not what is coming out of the PA monitors way above you (overhead) so it is somewhat of an optical illusion. Think of it as a handicap walker for the voice and also his live vocals as shitty as they are? will trigger the Phyllis tracks to stop when they interrupt the Phyllis tracks. That sort of behaves like an old noise gate. Make sense now? There ya go :) @@patrickjackman8688
