@34:30 I never had a problem with the Asylum cover and Bruce having blue lips since he was in the lead guitarist role but never wore makeup and never officially had his own “solo color”. But Carr did have orange as his official color when he joined as the Fox so it was kinda odd that they’d ignore that and give him green lips (I’m sure since Paul blames the new characters for the downfall of KISS and not the overexposure that he was apart of in the late 70’s, he wanted no references to the Fox or even Wiz at that time). All very trivial, but I’ve always loved everything about Asylum (except Carr not finally getting a lead vocal).

He is! He’s very much a class act. A few years back, he was a guest musician for a Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp at MGM Grand. The last night, all of the rock stars played on stage with their students. I was working there at the time. He came in and we shook hands and spoke for awhile. After a few hours, he was leaving. He went out of his way to come over to me to say goodnight. I was floored. I was going through a separation from my wife at the time and had no idea how much that lifted me up. He is a super nice guy. Very humble. Bob was cool too!

Probably the best line up.. Simmons, Stanley, Kulick, Care.. everyone's going to have their opinions and that's what's great about forms like this people like the original because of the looseness and just with the fact that it's the original I'm able to see the merits and all of them but there is something special about this lineup just seem very well-rounded.. I think musically it was definitely a step up Simmons and Stanley had already been playing the tunes for a while Eric Carr despite being a long time Peter Chris fan was a night and day drummer definitely more rock and roll which is where they read the time and Bruce could play anything even others material could make his own..

Bruce has said he wouldn't want to be in Kiss in its current form. When he was in the band, he got to "be himself" and put his own spin on the classic songs, whereas Tommy Thayer is expected to "be Ace" and play everything note-for-note like the records.
@johnmcminn9455
@johnmcminn9455 Жыл бұрын
@TheJohnnyCotts yes, I guess they decided to bring back the classic make up and jumped right over Kulick and St.John I don't really dig Thayer in the classic costume but his sound and guitar work really does the Classic line up justice, he sounds great, and Eric Singer is one of my favorite drummers from Black Sabbath . The drums on Eternal Idol are amazing I don't see much about Kulick playing in Grand Funk on You Tube it seems Bruce joined GFR immediately after leaving Kiss
@TheJohnnyCotts
@TheJohnnyCotts Жыл бұрын
@@johnmcminn9455 After Kiss reunited with the original lineup in 1996, Bruce put together a new band with John Corabi from Motley Crue called Union. They did a couple of albums, but never really got over. He didn't join Grand Funk until the early 00's, after GFR kicked Mark Farner out.

I can't believe Eddie Trunk would say he thinks "Asylum" is the best non-make up era KISS album. Where does he come up with this shit? To me, it's probably the worst of the non-make up era... Either that one or Crazy Nights. My favorite non-make up era albums are probably 1) Revenge 2) Lick it up 3) Animalize for me everything after that's all about the same level of "meh" not awful, (aside from asylum and crazy nights) not great. That's not figuring in Creatures of the night though... I'm not sure how to classify that one, it's post peter/ace, but they were wearing make up when it was released, yet they re-released it with a cover without make-up. So, it's kinda the odd man out.. but if I were considering that one, it would replace lick it up, and lick it up would fall to third.

In my opinion, they're being far too generous about Asylum. It wasn't the brilliant album they're making it out to be. It had some good songs, but that's the best I could say about it. In his autobiography, Paul talked about Gene bringing in sub-par songs in the nid-eighties. When i read that, I immediately thought of Secretly Cruel. She was all over me like a cheap suit! Awful! Secretly cruel, I ain't nobody's fool. Not the band's finest hour.

at 13:18 He said ......."the long history you had with Kiss" ........... Bruce barely had any history with KISS in 1984. very little.

Tommy was Aces tech and It should've stayed that way. I saw him last year for the end of the Road tour. And he will NEVER PLAY as good as ACE. He is really sloppy and tries too hard. But Just is Terri-BAD....Worst KISS SHOW EVER!!! And I saw the REAL FAREWELL SHOW IN 2000 and when they first got back together in the 90's ...Starting w Crazy Nights w I was a kid. So I have seen the 70's and. 80's KISS.Ace is BEST but Bruce is much BETTER than T. Sour😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Bruce or tommy who really cares. I've heard. Very few tracks with Kulick that excite me. The lead solos are lukewarm kulick.jist ain't heavy enough. I mean I dropped the horrible 80s records and moved on to better metal bands. Always a fan of Ace up til dynasty then bye be.

@@michaelpolo6117 I noticed Tommy .never really nails the. solos. That infuriates me too. If youe r going to be an ACE clone get it right or as close as possible. I know it may be tougher being all decked out in costume with pyro exploding constantly but you're in KISS. I don't know but something about SINGER pisses .me off.
