The "sorry" apology from Gene reminds me of a story Desmond Child told about comments Gene made in a magazine one time disrespecting him for writing "I was made for lovin you" and saying for the next album they are locking him out of the studio. He told Paul to hurt their enemies not their friends and later got a message left on his machine that just said "Hey..It's Gene....Sorry" lol.

German here: I know a lot of people dismiss on Gene and Paul. I, too, hated it when they went retro and repainted their faces. Tommy and Eric as Ace and Peter killed it completely. But what I like about Gene is his loyalty to his German fans (keep in mind: he is a Jew and his family suffered in concentration camps) and also the way he spoke to his fans via a taped message to be called in 1983 as they unmasked. He didn´t speak of himself, but taught his fans to have self-esteem. That was simply great! I also loved his acting and his book-writing. Kiss also came into my life as I learnt English as a pupil.

He designed the Kiss logo (despite what Paul says) He came up with the iconic smoking guitar and only missed one session to re-record a solo on destroyer. Grateful Dead did the solo albums to get out of record contract with Warner Bros (I think...) anyways. Kiss was not the first band to adopt that. If the albums were done right, the listener (Fan) was finally able to hear where the music they listened to all came from each individual member and see how that mixes into the band they listened to before the solo albums. A lot of the material on Jerry and Bobbys solo albums made their way to the Dead repertoire. Mickeys album had the Pump Song. Anywhoo, its just funny to listened to Gene and Paul talk about things like no one had ever even thought about it until they did it hehe. But here I am continuing to listen hehe.

Kiss made a good deal of albums but so many songs sound alike. Paul was churning out subpar songs while Gene was staring in crappy grade D movies. I find it very distasteful to listen to Paul and Gene, minimize the contributions of the other members of the band. The fact that two of them have passed away, and can’t defend or refute what continues to be said or omitted about them. Paul even states that he and Gene had the lion’s share of songs the albums, and if the songs were bad, is he saying that Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick were presenting inferior songs?
