Got my $100 voucher.. i guess you had to use it at the end of the road only section of the store..so no record art for me. I got two shirts and some buttons. Oh well. And also, yes it was Paul's sons band not Genes as i had mentioned. I got the KISS sign from Kiss pee wee golf at RIO in Las Vegas. THANKS EVERYONE FOR CHECKING OUT THIS VIDEO AND LETTING ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. It's nice to talk rock and roll. Brian, I really appreciated this video and your willingness to share your experience of this VIP event and the concert with us. Anyone who has loved a band this long is bound to have a lot of feelings and want that one great final experience. So hard to hold onto as adults when, like you, we discover bands in our youth and they really become the soundtrack for our lives. KISS was magical to me as a child and though I lost touch with their music for a few decades, nothing really sums up the delight of my childhood more than my friends and I putting on KISS shows with our action figures, making the circa Dynasty costumes, stage, instruments, painting the figures faces, using sparklers, party poppers (which we disassembled and reloaded with tinier confetti)and smoke bombs for our “pyro” and bingo marker liquid for Gene’s blood. We burned up a few of those stages and the wigs we made for the figures, but it was well worth it. What other band could ever have inspired that? Anyway, thanks for sharing brother, I appreciate you and your heart.

Some paid $4000, some paid $1000 and some paid $500 for the "meet the band" experience. Love them or hate them, they are a business, for sure. "A good or service is only worth what someone is willing to pay" is my motto. If you were willing to pay and you enjoyed the entire "experience", then the ultimate result is an definite, YES!

at a time where bands are going broke due to poor record sales, KI$$ is still raking it in. Unreal. I just hope other bands don't think they can get that kinda money for the experience.. it is funny as Everclear is coming to town and for $150 you can hear the soundcheck and meet the band and unlimited autographs. They know their price range.

Kiss is on that commercial cash cow for sure! They have been for many years. Very cheesy stuff too. Kiss m&m's at Walmart is one of them. I surely wouldn't pay 500 bucks or 5,000 bucks to meet & great them.

@@jetjaguar72 No, it wouldn't make me happy, even if I had the money. It's the high & unjustified & ridiculous prices being charged. They've done made their money many times over. It's their greed for money & lack of compassion for their fans. They could care less, they just want the people's money. I remember meeting Geezer Butler & Tony Iommi at an Ozzfest, cost me 40 bucks to buy their solo cd's and I got photos with them, and autographed the cd's & I got to sit with Geezer while he signed more autographs. Now that's a meet & greet!! 😁🥰

I've been into The Who for over 50 years & I've just got into Kiss! I watched a long interview with Paul Stanley, just recently & now I get the whole Kiss scene. Wow! I'm so impressed, I know I'm many decades late, they are absolutely amazing especially the energy they put into their shows at their ages. Also, like Paul said in the interview they wear outfits which weigh 40 + pounds, plus the platform boots - it's not like they are just performing in jeans & t-shirts - so it's more strenuous for them. This video is brilliant - Thanks for sharing your Kiss Experience

Go back and watch some of the early VHS (now digital I'm sure) releases they did like KISS Exposed and others. My buddy introduced me to them in the late 80s and these early releases were more genuine and raw if that makes sense. You may enjoy them.

Fantastic play by play, thank you for sharing! I'm 53, been a Kiss fan since I was a kid. Grew up with not a very nice step-father who liked to drink and take his frustrations out on me. My big brother would take my mind off things by playing his Kiss records for me and while we would look at the album cover. I was just in awe. I owe this band for keeping a smile on my face through some tough years as a kid. In hindsight, kind of wishing I maybe took the opportunity to do a VIP and thank the fellas. In 1975 for Christmas that year I got a Sears and Roebuck all-in-one AM/FM, turntable, and 8-Track tape player/recorder (yes the 8-track machine had recording heads and they sold blank 8-tracks at the department store where you would buy blank cassettes). My very first vinyl LP in life was KISS - Alive! -- My dad sucked, too... but that same year I got my first guitar and my first guitar lesson the next day, December 26th. So for me, it was to disappear into my bedroom, and play my guitar while the war zone went on in the rest of the house. 48 years later, I still play guitar (quite a bit better these days, haha)... and here I am about to click "play" on a live KISS show... rock one. (Detroit Rock City is my all time fave KISS song. Back in the day, I wore out the grooves on both sides of the Destroyer album).

I worked as a stage crew member and I also did it for KISS once, my former first love in Rock Music. So, I always got to hear/see the sound check…can’t imagine paying that much for it, but hey I’d have done the same if I could. On the other hand, Gene and Paul are big time capitalists, they know how to squeeze a dollar or two. All in all I am truly grateful for having them heard first a a kid. My mom went crazy, there was not ONE spot without a KISS poster in my room. I hear you..I got exact the same record as my first KISS record..Alive2. And as I said earlier, I met Gene too, he grabbed a black Firefighter hat and pinched me in the cheek…I was smiling like a little girl..oh boy. I can understand how you felt Bro! I worked as a VIP photographer for a promoter, so I would handle bands, actors, comedians, authors and so on at the same venue and would sub on occasion at different ones. It was something I just felt dirty doing. I'd just hold my shutter down and get 4 or 5 pics each and post them all just to give people a little more and on occasion I would stall if I could tell it was a super fan or someone disabled. Most of the time I was asked to go as fast as possible.

I have to admit I have a few issues with the absence of some spontaneity, use of backing tracks but as a fan since 1976, decided to go to the Indy show. A fun time was had. The crowd were really into it and the band were solid. I’d say Tommy had a particularly good night. I took off my musician hat and decided to enjoy it for what it is: a fun time. And it was. I don't think I would spend the money you did, but after watching your video I would jut like to give you kudos for making the video and being such a devout, yet humble follower. You have a lot of heart for those you admire and it comes out in your video. Hell... after watching I might just have paid the $1000+ myself! Rock on, sir!!

Really great review, man! I saw KISS at the UIC PAVILLION when I lived in the "greater Chicagoland" area on the Lick it Up tour with Vinnie Vincent! I, too, grew up on KISS! Ace was the reason that I picked up a guitar. Although I never really got rich, I did get a little bit famous chasing my dream. I left the Midwest 3 days after my 21st birthday and long story short, I ended up playing up and down the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and up and down the Vegas Strip in Las Vegas nearly getting a record deal before grunge ruined Rock-N-Roll. I not only got to meet all of my boyhood heroes, my band opened for Ace and Peter when they came to Vegas on solo tours and through a good friend who opened for KISS for 18 months, got to know Gene and Paul! I love your enthusiasm and your review. It reminded me of ME before I got so jaded from being chewed up and spit out by the "fame-game." God bless and take care, Brian...

At least you went for your dream, so many people never attempt it. I'm sure you have some crazy stories and crazy memories. I first saw KISS at UIC in 86. Years later i would attend UIC and then drop out to go full time with the band i was in. But that only lasted a few years, as you well know..the music business is a crazy one. Thanks so much for your comment.

Brian, great video and recap of your KISS EOTR experience. My wife and I did the same experience you did.. in Nashville. Originally, my daughter was going but could not make it due to college schedule. So my wife went to her first - and last - KISS concert LOL. We had a great time although they did their "sound check" on a separate stage as the main stage was not ready. All in all, it was a fun experience and we wrapped it into other activities while in town. My first show was 1976 Destroyer Tour... and I've seen them on every tour since. Ignore the few haters here. Tommy and Eric get dumped on but every hater who rips them would also gladly take their spot if given such an opportunity. Finally, if the haters are so good let them go out and build a brand like KISS. It's a free country. I tell the haters every time... "yeah that's what I thought." They're armchair QB's at best. Hope to stay in touch. Rob

You did better than me. I couldn't afford the $400 tickets to see Kiss in Sydney. And honestly considering what Ive seen going on with the EWOTR tour I'm just happy to see why fans throw up on KZbin. I wish you recorded the whole sound check, at least your footage was looking good and the correct aspect ratio. If Ace was still with Kiss I would be happy to throw away money I can't afford to get a photo. But I can't stomach the Tommy's role in the band. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Your experience sounds to the T exactly like my VIP one at Dickies Arena in Ft. Worth. I got very, very starstruck! Anyway, I don't think there's been another band that has been as good to their fans as KISS. They give a 100% and never fail to recognize that all of this that has lasted so long was a team experience between the band and the fans. I think that's what most non-fans and critic never understood. And what a great catalog of music, and while maybe not the most technical, it's always been rock n roll defining!

Hey thanks for sharing that experience, youve made me wish I had gone for the VIP ticket. I saw them Twice on this tour at Birmingham UK, once before Covid and back in July when they came back to finish the job, that was a real bonus. Like you said no band can do a live show like KISS, high octane blow your brains out rock n roll, just an awsome spectacle. We were in the center of the arena next to the riser where Paul flies out to the audience, to see him in action up close like that, he is the consumate rock star. The end of the show was a little sad when the realization dawned that that really was it, this was the very last show I would get to see, but what a ride!!!!!!!!!

You mentioned third grade, when I was in third grade it was 1975&76 and my parents would not allow me to listen to Kiss! I had heard all of Alive back in the fall of 75 from my cousin who was older. It was not until I got my first real drum set Christmas of 5th grade with a stereo and a copy of Alive II from my parents. By that time I had my walls covered for every magazine I could find of Kiss Ace being my favorite! That cousin I mentioned was into photography and during the 1976 tour took many 35mm slides from the floor and even has a closeup of Bon Scott right beside him with Angus on his shoulders running through the crowd!!! Was lucky to meet and get autographs of everyone except Paul during the reunion tour the following day at the Peabody Hotel Memphis! Talk about excitement I was on cloud 9 for days after meeting them and Gene actually spent a few minutes talking to me!!! Thank you for this great video!!❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

The first time i saw KISS was Nov, 7, 1979 Dynasty tour at the L.A. Forum. I also met Paul at a movie theater in 1982 . It’s weird to think paid meet and greets are a thing these days. I remember in 80’s and 90’s backstage was literally a party…that was very surreal. Yes it was usually a situation where you had to know someone or have won a contest. But you didn’t pay for it, and it lasted a long time. Not seconds.

Ask the people who had tickets for their Ottawa, Toronto, and Knoxville shows if it was worth it.. hundreds of people came from NY state to see them play ottawa and toronto, drove/flew there, booked hotels etc.. only for last minute cancellations for Paul's 'flu'. The thing is yeah ok maybe he was sick, but why just cancel and not reschedule? there are plenty of off days on the schedule between now and the final shows in NY, yet they immediately announced refunds without even taking a day to look over the possibilty of rescheduling those shows in between. That seemed pretty shady. I heard the truth was those cancellations were over poorer than expected ticket sales, that's why they never bothered to reschedule them. But in the process they F#@ked over their fans who travelled to see them.

I have to say since I was born in 73 I was never much of a kiss fan, but I did respect what they did. What made me like them little Moore is in my grandmother‘s house upstairs from our house. My aunt used to live and she’s maybe 15 years older than me, so when she got married and moved out, I kinda took her room as my own and in one of her dresses she had a big Circle K sticker. I must’ve been eight or nine years old at the time and I just remembered that crazy make up, but they’re not one of the groups that I listen to throughout the years, but I did record their last show that was on pay-per-view a few nights ago just because it is an end of an era even if it’s one I was not a part of so much.
