Paul Stanley never gets the respect he deserves when it comes the great frontmen in rock. Everyone is always all about Freddie Mercury, DLR, Robert Plant, etc. But this man is doing what he, so obviously, was born to do. Few others have the charisma and energy he shows on stage.

Maybe because Kiss is a pure mainstream rock band. Other artists and professionals notice that. They have good songs, classics and some hits - "I was born for loving you" here in Germany and elsewhere in Europe at least 1-2 a week on the radio (royalties). But they lived mainly from the stage show and the fireworks. These days, they would not be nearly as successful. At that time it was something new and unique. In addition, Chaim Simmons has managed to turn it into a brand. I think Gene Simmons was all about money and women and Stanley about money and artistic development but not at any price. The only one who was really rock star was Ace Frehley

It's a little surreal going back and listening to this music because I know these voices; they're a theatrical group of guys, they appear in sketches about themselves and voice themselves in cartoons, and then it's like, "oh, yeah, they sing." Eric Singer replaced him, and he's also the current KISS drummer. Mark St. John died on April 5 2007 of brain hemmorhage, at the age of 51 years old. He left KISS in 1984, and he was replaced by Bruce Kullick. Both Eric and Mark were good, espicially Eric Carr, my all time favourite drummer!

I was a huge Kiss fan. If you remember at that time, MTV would air full concerts on Friday nights. I had patiently waited all week to stay up late on Friday night to watch it. I was 13 years old and during the 2nd song, my mom passed through the room and heard Paul Stanley say the word "damn". She made me turn it off. Considering the language in songs now, it sure shows the difference 30 years make. Nobody would even blink about someone saying "damn" now.

This is a really good example of less is more. The guitar is basically just two chords. The drums are a simple 4/4 beat. The bass is pretty normal bass playing, nothing out of the ordinary. You get the idea. But despite the simplicity, it’s great.

The kiss catalog has better songs. As a hardcore KISS fan I agree that this song is a pure banger but it's repetetive and simple compared to alot of other stuff in that discography and the rest of the animalize album. Give these songs a listen: Rock and roll hell, I stole your love, sure know something, down on your knees, king of the mountin, tears are falling, Uh! All Night and Thrills In The Night. All good songs some are under rated some are kiss classics but all are better than heaven's on fire imo.
