I'm a huge KISS fan. This was their reveal to the world after 10 years of makeup and success. They're lucky this didn't sink their non-makeup aspirations. This was the video where Kiss first "unmasked." After years of speculation, rumors and talk of performing without the costumes, it finally happened. This video was marketed on MTV for about 2 weeks before it was first played. You know, "don't miss Kiss' new video playing here first next Saturday", or something like that. However this time, no mention of "no costume." None of us Kiss fans were expecting it. I remember me and about 10 of my friends hanging out in the basement just to see the new video, and I had MTV in stereo back then, so all my friends were at my place. Although looking at the video now, we should have known something was different when the whole first stanza of the song did not show any of them above the waist... Then the camera panned up, and what a reaction out of all of us. After years of expecting it to "happen on the next album," we were not expecting anything. Yes Kiss, you definitely surprised us! Not just with a great new song, but with a great new look! Wow, those were the days!

Kiss are amazing. Massive in the 70s, then came back in the 80s just in time for the 80s metal explosion and had another decade added to their career. The Creatures, Lick It Up, Animalize years were their best, IMO.
