You wanted the best... You got the best... The hottest band in the world... KISS!!!

Absolutely awesome! KISS rules and Dick Clark was the best. He always showed support to them. He was so much fun on TV. He especially made hit countdown shows and New Years Eve shows so much fun to watch. He even introduced KISS again New Years Eve 1996/97 when they reunited in make up. New Years Eve has never been the same without Dick Clark, but KISS keeps on rocking to this day. I have loved KISS my whole life since I was 8 in 1980. I've seen them 26 times live and met them once in 1995, and I have a museum's worth of collectibles in my house!

Kiss have the best marketing and merchandising of their logo and personas than anyone ever. They probably made most of their money from their merch and Images. There’s Kiss Dolls, Stickers, Mugs, Keychains, etc. Anything you can print a Logo or Image on. And Why not? People love to buy that stuff and collect things. 😎👏🏻🎸

Very true. Ace Frehley said when he left the band he got a cash settlement but also a lifetime percentage on their albums because the KISS catalog still sells consistently after all these years there’s always a new audience that discovers them
@Tanya_Mathews11 ай бұрын
Correction, They sold their catalog to a Japanese company and we. can all thank Ace Frehley for coming up with the famous KISS logo and even Ace suggested to Paul that he should settle on one black star over his eye. Ace was the genius @@jennifersman7990

Kiss was great but always a little too hard of rock for many of us in the 70's. We all liked them but usually not in our top 10. But most of us identified with the hard partying of bands and copied them. It was not until many years later we found out many of our favorites never drank or did drugs!

Their sound was horrible back then.
@ajo30853 жыл бұрын
You can't blame them for the sound of this clip. This is from the Capital Center, Largo, who were one of a handful of venues that did their own in house filming for either screens or skyboxes and would have used the front of house mix for their sound. While the old CC was great for bootleg collectors none of the recordings will ever be mistaken for properly recorded, mixed and filmed official releases. Kiss used some of these shows (Houston being another great "bootleg" venue) in their Kissology series but the audio and video quality is simply bootleg standard, nothing approaching what you would have expected or got from an official live release. It's actually surprising they allowed it to be used on TV, but for such a visual band, the scarcity of professionally recorded 70's footage has always surprised me.
@jetcitysinatra73003 жыл бұрын
@Susan Sawyer If KISS was using modern equipment this concert would have sounded great. It doesn't hold up with time. Maybe it is just the reply that sounds bad.
@ajo30853 жыл бұрын
@@jetcitysinatra7300 Maybe it's just a case of you not listening. There were COUNTLESS live albums made during the 70's and they still sound fine today... nothing to do with them not having "modern equipment" back then. It's all about how that live sound was recorded and mixed... an explanation I have already given you in the case of recordings from the CC, but continue on thinking you know better if that's what floats your boat.

@@ajo3085 Some people love everything no matter what the quality is . . . Compare the quality to this recording from Dick Clark and then listen to their Huston show. It is the difference between night and day . . . kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5OvhoiFncuZqc0
@ajo30853 жыл бұрын
@@jetcitysinatra7300 What is your point? The Washington show came from an in-house recording, onto TV, then to youtube via how many generations of VHS tape? Houston, also an in-house recording was cleaned up as much as possible prior to being released on the Kissology set. Those of us who had copies of the Houston shows on VHS back in the day can see and hear the difference. Perhaps you could put on a copy of the Washington show from Kissology and compare it to this clip. You'll also see and hear the difference there, which takes us back to my original point, you can't blame the sound of this clip on Kiss or put it down to a lack of "modern equipment". It's simply a non-professional recording that has had the life squeezed out of after decades on video tape.
