Say what you will about The Elder, but it has its place in KISStory. Fans still dig it. I liked it when I got it for Christmas in 1981…and I still like it today. That crowd reaction says it all, too.

I’m sure the movie would have included a cameo from the band…probably disguised as characters that you wouldn’t have known were the band to begin with. Would have been cool. End credits song???? “I”?

I got it for Christmas that year too on vinyl and cassette my parents always got us both when they got us music and by July I had to replace the cassette cuz I wore it out LOL. I have always like the Elder and Always will..

I never understood why Paul is so hung up about the failed sales of The Elder. Sometimes it takes time to evolve a classic Kiss Album. The Elder is one of the best. But it took 30 years for this to evolve. I'm sure by now it's a top selling Kiss album.

The Elder was more of Bob Ezrin and Gene's idea. I don't think Paul ever really liked it, but it did lend it's self to Gene's love of fantasy and horror. In my opinion, that album was the best mistake they ever made, one of my favourite KISS albums.

FINALLY, the double bass drumming can be heard perfectly! It was a shame that Eric Carr's double bass work on this song ended up getting buried in the mix on the album, but here Eric Singer is free to shine! Sounds wonderful.

My late older brother and I both loved The Elder when it came out. But for the rest who didn't like it at the time, it took time for it to finally grow on everyone as a great KISS album. listen to how the crowd went wild in this video when they started playing. Proof right there.

Both of my parents are gone as well, and he was my only sibling so for now, until I do see them again one day, I am alone with my memories of them all. The Elder has always been one of my favorite Kiss albums. First time I listened to it I must have been maybe 12 years old, now I'm 42. I remember it took a few listens till it ran through my veins, but once it did man its always been there. Hey! Paul Gene and Ace! Guess what? Kiss fans love this shit! Thank you KISS!

Here I am years after with this popping up in my feed. The Elder album would have to be one of the more enduring albums KISS have ever released. Such a shame the commercial priorities of the time clouded over the vision in which this album was created, has endured and is probably played as much (if not more) than the other great albums KISS released at the height of their popularity. At least it is in my home, car, work, earphones etc.

Music From the Elder is one of my absolute favorite Kiss albums. I remember back in the day of cassettes back in the late 80's, you couldn't even find this album at the music stores. At the time it was the only one I didn't have and I wanted it so bad, never heard a song from it, but I knew I had to have it. I was relieved when they finally re-released it on CD, and it was awesome!!!

Just an old guy and old fan.... loved this back when it came out and have showed their “Friday’s” performance to everyone who will let me to prove The Elder was a great album. That being said, am I the only one who wonders while watching this performance what Halford, Dickinson, Tate, Gillian, or Dio would think while watching this performance? It kills me to see Kiss like this and 2019 is a scary proposition. Best of luck to them next year

...waaayyyy...before its time. Now everyone is having nothing but positive reactions for Paul's falsetto range. Arguably, Paul was Kiss during the mid 80's. And, his songs are carrying Kiss through labile Zeitgeist of generational universal strata.

KISS Forever Singer shoulda stayed with Alice Cooper , I know Kiss's new lineup plays great, and tour with everyone. ...well everyone but Alice Cooper. oooFURYooo ....we’ll have to agree to disagree. :) Singer is solid, but nothing special. He’ll never be talked about as being a great drummer. He’s just there and forgettable. Very good at what he does but very run of the mill. He sounds like so many others. I find his style cookie cutter and boring. I’ve been playing for 42 years of my 48 years on this planet, and I think Singer is meh. My opinion. Singer can’t play as good as Carr or sing as good as Criss. Cheers. Thanks for the discussion.

This is some of Kiss's best music! The only problem is Paul can't hit the high notes, but this them entering the world of Prog-Metal, and it's bad ass! It's also a weird key too. You'd have to get a boy's choir to hit that stuff on key. I discovered this on their appearance on Fridays.
