I think you're right. There are a few moments where Paul looks like he wants to laugh but is too uncomfortable because of Gene. I think at certain times he isn't liking it and other moments he wants to join in on the laughter.

I think Gene was so used to getting all the attention that it really took him by surprise that Ace was suddenly getting all the attention here. With Ace being completely loaded, he was able to come out of his shell and be more fun and goofy on camera, and I'm glad we caught that glimpse of his personality because this is one of the most fun KISS interviews I've ever seen. Unfortunately, Gene was a sourpuss during it. Peter was clearly having fun that Ace was having fun, and it's obvious that Paul is forcing himself to hold back, probably because he didn't want Gene to feel completely left out in his corner of misery. I really feel like Paul wanted to cut loose because he laughs at Ace's jokes much more than Gene does in this interview. Gene always had a sense of humor tho, so I'm surprised that he didn't find Ace's humor funny - but then again, that would mean that he would have to admit that Ace was stealing his spotlight.

If I see it for sale on eBay, I'll come back to Myrtle Beach just to kick your ass." Whether it was meant to be a joke or not, I don't know, but we both laughed. The joke's on him, though. I played it on stage for a few years until all but the $ in "$immons" had been pretty much worn off, then I sold it to Dick's Pawn shop for $30. Yes, that's thirty bucks. Paul's autograph was still very much intact.

In 74, Gene was indeed the Demon, and he owned that damn stage (though Ace was rockin' as well). Gene was a sight to behold in their earliest days. They all were. By the time of their Love Gun/Alive II tours, Gene sucked on stage bigtime. He was no demon; he just wiggled his hips and stuck his tongue out at girls. Plus he began to sound like a damn bullfrog singing live; it was all Ace Frehley from that point. Gene was on a downward trend, Ace was on the up.

+John Talarico Peter is in no way annoying in this interview, he is pretty mellow all throughout. And I still say that is clearly Peter's voice, Bill's voice was much more nasal, I've heard it in interviews enough to know. You are only assuming it's Bill, you can't even see him in the footage, though I do know that he was present. Gene still keeps glancing at his right side where I think Bill was standing, for example when Gene says "that's a french word, how about that?" That happened right after the "please, put the bear down" remark. Peter is also the one who says "oh, Ace..." when Ace starts playing with the bear. I think it's actually Bill giving that laugh in the background when Ace says "Absolutely! Now that's what I call band member interaction" to Snyder, referring to himself and Gene being on the same page for once, lol. That definitely sounds like Bill - who probably had had some of that champagne as well, he is the one who brought it, after all!
