How come this song never became a classic, like "Livin on a prayer"? I was 17 when this album was released. I loved it.
@gggg-xp2rv Жыл бұрын
That's what I wanted to say to the world in 1987-1988. KISS was underrated during 1981 - 1989. Even though they wrote good songs, they didn't become hit songs. Forever finally became a big hit suddenly and unnaturally.

I was 12 when Kiss released Crazy Nights. It was the very first Kiss album I ever owned, and this was the track that made me pick it up. It was not much of a hit and I only saw the video on MTV a few times, but man it is special to me.

The 1980's was such a fantastic time. The music, the movies, the clothes, the total positive atmosphere that anything was possible. I had the time of my life in the 1980's. I wouldn't trade 1 day of my time in the 1980's for a year in the present. If I could go back and do it all again, I would do it in a heartbeat. I got to live my youth in the best decade ever. Wish I could go back and stay there.

Likewise! I'm 44 and I, too, STILL listen to '80s rock/metal! In my opinion, for some (people), UNFORTUNATELY, THEY look at MUSIC the way jr. high and/or high school students look at their individual status. In other words, some people look at music like it's a "popularity contest!" In my opinion, THOSE people are "missing the point!" In my opinion, music, to ME, is about "feeling/emotion, individuality, and being the voice that I'll never have."
@mrdoofa93576 жыл бұрын
I’m 41 and listen to 80s metal all the time!!! I loved it then and still love it now, reminds me of so many happy times and that to me is what music is about, music curates your life. Different eras in your life are defined by the music you was listening to and everybody has certain songs or bands they attach to certain times in their lives.
@Sankaritarina896 жыл бұрын
I guess something is wrong with me then. I'm 28 and listen to 80s metal all the time... even though I was not around to experience it in person. I do however go to 80s rock events whenever I can at local bars, pubs and clubs and it enjoy those the most. Last weekend there was another "poser rock night". My friend who is my age and I are usually the youngest people who are around but we have so much fun. They played 'tears are falling' from kiss last time i was there :)

I know! I don't know what it is, but there's just something about '80s rock that immediately feels big, expansive, and optimistic to me. The decade's stereotype culture was all about success and MONEY!, but beyond that, with the music it's something about the types of notes and tunes, chords, production...it just seems grand and sweeping and like you can do ANYthing and let's go on an ADVENTURE!

That golden voice! Listen to the clarity and power and just plain precision of hitting those notes in this high range. 0:26 -- I love how he shapes his throat on the word "than any OTHER guy" - the way it attacks, rather than slides in from the word "any"; most vocalists would slide the two words together: "any-yuther." 0:36 -- the climbing notes on "know it - show it" - brilliant. 1:13 -- "show me what you want - show me what you need" -- again, the attack! and then "fire below" - that little fry on the word "fire." The vocals are mixed perfectly, but I sometimes wish we could hear ALL Paul's vocals soloed to appreciate just how good they are! A single tear, for that epic throat, now in its autumn...

Eric had the best drum solo on the Crazy Nights Tour, I have ever seen to this day! He had these drum sticks that glowed and the lights dimmed and all you could see was these lights moving back and forth so fast. I wish there was footage of his drum solo from that tour on youtube. Also, on this tour, there was no "You wanted the best, you've got the best", it was just Paul coming out on stage and saying, "We're going to kick your ass" and they open with Love Gun, strange song to open with, but different. Also, 80's KISS were Super LOUD! My ears for ringing for two days!

Crazy Nights was such a underrated Kiss album. Some people didn't like 80s Kiss, but I loved it. To me Kiss was the greatest "ATHEM BAND" of all time. So many songs that were "stand up and shout them" type of songs and 80s Kiss had so many of them. Kiss wrote great songs that didn't make you want "kill" or "break something" when you heard them. You wanted to smile, have fun, and actually feel good when listened to 80s Kiss. That is why I label them as "Party Rock".

The fact this didn't breach the billboard top 10 is puzzling to say the least. This has radio hit written all over it

Absolutely. When I was 16 (about 1987) THE must have albums that everyone had to own where, Appetite for destruction, Hysteria, and for the true Metal fans Master Of Puppets and Among The living. Jesus where the did it all go wrong?

Nigel Buck Can you say "grunge?" In my opinion, as an '80s rock/metal fan, myself, I was disappointed to see HOW MANY other or fellow '80s rock/metal fans let "the bad apple (grunge) spoil the barrel ('80s rock/metal music and parties!) "

The BEST song off Crazy Nights I don't know why but it's the perfect end credits song I picture this song played over the end credits of a KISS documentary.
