Appreciate the review of these. I got the 702. I have noticed the same strange readings when using the scope functions as well. One thing you didnt show or were not aware of, when measuring higher voltages (110 vac and up) the white numbers turn red. Its not a huge issue but the red numbers kind of blend in a bit with the red on the "analog" display, makes it a little harder to see. Battery life on mine has been all over the place as well. I got mine for about $45 on temu, cant beat that.

Thanks for the great feedback! Yes I realized I forgot to show the high voltage warning (red LEDs) and I wish I had. It is a nice feature, but if the display is hard to see - then maybe they could have changed the background too?

When checking for probe setting, AC coupling etc., you always looked at the channel 2 settings, but the generator was connected to channel 1. Maybe this is why the readings looked a bit odd. However, when autosetting, the scope should show the correct values, e.g. 1V instead of 1.4V.

UPDATE. With the new 1.4.2. firmware update we now have a third trace available in the form of "FFT" (FAST FOURIER TRANSFORM) availability in glorious RED colour. It replaces the FORMAT position in the fourth menu which was used to delete the stored screen shots. It changes the "X" axis from time to frequency and as such changes the display to that of a a spectrum analyser. Frequency is plotted along the x-axis and amplitude is plotted along the y-axis. FFTs often look like a series of mountain peaks. The horizontal location of peaks indicates which frequencies are strongly present in the W/F. The valleys show which frequencies are absent. I tried this with the built in calibration sig gen on all the available W/Fs and it shows the strongest frequency is the prime 1 KHz followed in the case of square waves by diminishing amplitude peaks at each successive square wave. Quite useful when checking audio problems etc. The second change in the menu is in the 2nd row, what used to be the trigger position, is now "SAMPLE" with two choices, HD & PEAK, peak.

Hi Eddie, so the Zoyi seems like a bargain for the cost. However, I got a FNIRSI DPOX180H handheld dual channel digital oscilloscope at 180MHz for a few dollars more at the AliExpress 11/11 sale. While it seems clear there are several trade-offs, and the manufacturer's specifications are a matter of interpretation, I was wondering if you are familiar with the DPOX180H and if so, what your take on it is?

Thanks for asking. I'd love to run a comparison side by side with the ZOYI. The FNIRSI looks great but is around $170 where the ZOYI is only about $75. For the price of the ZOYI - it is pretty impressive.

Dumb question - I want to get an automotive range (200-500A) current clamp to measure starter motor draw / injectors etc..., which clamp should I buy for the ZT703S? Can the ZT703S record an oscilloscope trace from the multimeter banana connectors? Or do I need to buy a BNC connected current clamp? Thanks! I guess the AliExpress people agree, who the hell buys a dual channel Scope with only one probe. The 702S and 703S probes are the same but they are all only 60 Mhz. Not a problem for the 702S but not good for the 703S 100 Mhz spec. I am going to ask for 100 Mhz probes. First order from AliExpress went well.

I do have two other benches that are never shown. The camera compresses the image, but the bench you are looking at in front with the multimeters on it is almost 6', and the one with the larger equipment on it is 7' long. That is 13' of bench;)

Nice, I got a similiar speced one last year minus the multimeter. and it has done me fine (measuring pwm pin of a MCU etc) until i found a video on it and was disappointed to see the signal jump around in a real audio application. It too measures in the 5-10mhz range by some reviewres although it boast 100mhz, so the signal shouldne be bouncing around at 1khz like in this guys video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/npW3c6mdZtKbnc0si=H84gEHj7yppNxtOx Maybe he doesnt know how to use it correctly, like triggering and what not and I was kind of hoping youd go into that a little more. Oscilliscope basics, probably who'd need it if youre buying a scope at this level. Like theres an auto trigger, manual one, had no idea what that even meant other then pressing auto seems to work fine. Anyway I think i got the jist of it and seeing the bandwidth test was cool and ill have to do it on mine. But now i want to see the switching action of a mosfet, or the recovery time of a diode and still dont know how to do that. Like to capture a fast moment. Are these scopes capable of that or should i be upgrading? I was gonig to recommend these cheap ones but not sure after seeing that video of it being used for guitar effets pedals, unless he's not using it correctly but i was expecting more stable images in audio range, so you can compare easily. Ill have to try myself. Thanks for getting me back in the mood.
