This is the best Zotek demo yet. I would much rather watch how to use the ZT-702S on a real circuit board, than look inside the unit. If it works great for $75, that's enough for me. 🥳 The display did not flicker on KZbin with good color detail. Also, a Fluke-190 insulated 2-channel oscilloscope is over $4300. If Zotek had a higher CAT rating and could link two ZT-meters with BlueTooth on a laptop. Then testing 3-Phase power and checking harmonics at a really cheap price is doable. Dirty inverter power is causing lots of problems. 😎 Anyway, thanks for the most interesting video. PS.. I would like to see some of the waveforms compared on your better oscilloscope for a benchmark. 🧐

Yup! I got mine for $50 delivered. At first, I got an Owon HDS2102S because I didn't want to blow up my Rigol 1054z while learning the art of electronics - as well as having something not mains-Earth referenced. Then I decided I didn't want to blow up my more 'expensive' Owon while learning, either. 🤔 So I remained on the lookout for something cheaper that I didn't mind so much if I accidentally blew it up. And finally found out about this unit! 👍

I just ordered the ZT-703S - 50MHz 280Msps 2 ch version of this for $81 - should have it in a couple of weeks. It was just-just released - there's only one place on ali that seems to have it so far. I was working on something outside where I needed to look at a waveform, and outside in the rain is really no place for an expensive Keysight scope. I think an $80 handheld 50Mhz scope is more suitable to harsh locations! Kinda torn between the ZT-703S and the Owon HDS2202(s). The HD2202 is definitely better, but also 4x the cost. I'll try the cheapie first!

Hi Eddie, great video. Good to see someone is doing some actual measurements with this device! I purchased it several weeks ago ( €55.77 / US$61.40) and I love it. I think it's a fantastic device for the bench and certainly also because of the non-earthed portable character of the device. Also, the device is pretty accurate for the bench in home use. Good bang for the buck! As someone else wrote, a Duty Cycle option would have been nice to have as well. Because I pretty regularly use 1000:1 (secondary ignition) probes, my excitement for this scope has been dashed on the rocks. LOL. Oh well. Gotta comment with a correction about in-plane switching LCD displays. In addition to having the better field of view over twisted nematic, their refresh rate is an order of magnitude faster. The tradeoff is they require an order of magnitude more power, which is why TN displays are still preferred on portable test equipment.

You convinced me Eddie, I'm going to buy one! How does this meter compare with the Hantek handheld oscilloscope? From my standpoint, one weakness I've noticed in many of this less expensive meters is that the ma range is usually limited to 200 ma. In audio work, setting the bias on the output transistors frequently requires that the meter read above that. Still, this looks like an awesome unit for the price.

Any suggestions on a reputable oscilloscope under 500$ that I wont need to replace after a few months of use? My main purpose for it is setting gains and crossovers on amplifiers so nothing too crazy but it does need to be reliable and consistently accurate. Not bad for $72 (current price) on Amazon. Regarding safety, and I've worked in both high voltage and high energy situations many times is to know what you're doing. Think everything through. If you don't fully understand what you're doing STOP, take the tie to do some reading, or let someone else do it. Amazon, gotta love it. So I played around with it some while it's charging and I decided I like it. The display is not at all hard to see and I can set it to 20 seconds per division which just so happens to be what I'm going to set it at tomorrow morning when I go to find an intermittent short on a 5 volt reference signal while I wiggle harnesses. could be an open, I'm just going on what the other tech I'm taking over for said. This will be a perfect test for battery life if I end up not finding the issue right away. It's smaller in the hand than I thought, I kinda like that too. Compared to my 190-204 Fluke it's a midget. Fluke is on charge right now too. Not leaving anything to chance, I'm going into some factory I've never been to and many times there is no access to AC power. I couldn't find any filter settings so there's that. What'ya want for $70? LOL

I bought one of these meters off Dave's review. The problem I find with the cheap Chinese meters is that they start to lose functionality, or just completely fail, after a while. For multi-meter use, if you invest in a quality make, it will be well constructed and will last you many years (and it will be genuinely certified). As a portable scope, however, I think this device is worth the price of entry, even if it only lasts a couple of years.

@ssalient Жыл бұрын
It's a nice all-in-one device however it does have some flaws (which is to be expected at this low price point and can be mostly forgiven). One of these is the bar graph, which has the same update speed as the digits which makes it kind of useless. This goes for a lot of cheapo multimeters though. Another thing is that it can give you false readings on for instance mA setting if you accidentallly use the A input jack. A good meter either gives a correct reading with less precision or no reading at all. Also this is not unique to this meter but it is something to be aware of.
@KissAnalog Жыл бұрын
Yes you are right. Many meters have bar graphs that are not really that useful. Even if they are faster often it isn’t a big enough difference to make them worthwhile.
