As soon as Kiss Alive came out it was over. Destroyer, Love Gun, Hotter than Hell, Kiss Alive II. ect ect. Van Halen and ACDC both opened for Kiss. In my 52 years on this planet Ive never seen a group take over like they did between 76-81. They got so big they had their own movie on NBC in Oct of 78. Kiss meets the Phantom of the Park. And then a few years ago Detroit Rock City. Only group in history to sell over a billion dollars worth of merchandise, 30 Gold and Platinum albums and still sell out stadiums to this day. Over a 100 million albums sold and were the reason some rock stars of today wanted to get in the business themselves. Love em or hate em but they are by far one of the most successful groups in the history of music in any genre.

Peter said that during the first rehearsals, Paul and Gene brought forth the Wicked Lester material, which although good, wasn't going to set the world alight. But when they came in with "Strutter" he went "Oh boy, THIS is something which will make us big!" What Ace is saying here about "Deuce" fits in with the story quite nicely, in another interview he said that he "Loved it from the first note." Thing is that Gene said that he took the Riff from "Deuce" from the Rolling Stones' song "Bitch" and Ace being a massive Stones fan probably went "Ah, so you want this to be a Stones song, no problem, I'm completely down with that!"

They couldn't play anything difficult that's for sure. Yeah sure they made some sounds with very basic chords but they weren't anything overly good on guitars. With that being said, I think the marketing made them the "BEST" band ever and I love them regardless. I change my feelings about that all the time because on one hand, you have new members of the KISS Army coming in and some get confused and think that Eric and Tommy are Peter and Ace when that's not who they are! 😂, but on the other hand the old makeup makes most fans happy and I think I'd be a little sad if they did change their look, y'know? Anyway, I'm hoping I can see them come preform in my city this August with their Freedom to Rock tour, I'm thinking I'll put on makeup that looks like Ace 😁

For decades, I never thought this was a real band. After all, the only song I ever heard was that party one and the only places I saw them were on cereal boxes and my little sister's lunch pails. I lumped them together with the Partridge Family and the Brady Kids. Just goes to show ya, one man's gold is another man's shit.
