The plaintiff says the defendant filed false accusations against her and it put her job in jeopardy. She says you can’t just go around making things up, so she’s suing the defendant for $5,000. The defendant says she and the plaintiff grew up together. She alleges the plaintiff is harassing her and making her life miserable, so she’s countersuing for $8,000.

The plantiffs are a hot mess. And the one who is hurting is the grandson. The mom and her daughter are using the court system as their muscle, and that is so wrong. Maybe if the courts implement a fine to people for filing false statements, this wouldn't happen

I was a troubled teen. My mother was a drug addict and my life was hell. I was in trouble a lot. My point with this is, I wonder what that kids home life is like to be acting out like this. You lie to survive and to have a break from the your crappy life. You don’t understand all the people that you’re getting caught up in it. It’s not done with malice. Funny, when I went to live with my dad I didn’t act out anymore.

You could see the defendant start to tear up when the judge said she should just allow the child to go into the system. She cares more about the child than the mother who doesn’t even have custody. The grandmother is supposed to have care of the child but is leaving him on her brother. The mother-daughter duo are nuts! All those lies and court cases in retaliation b/c they didn’t like that the defendant dated their relative/s. Sickos!

It says a lot when the plaintiff own child runs away. I hope the defendant sues the mother because clearly she is Ms. Messy boots and filing false accusations against the defendant. This episode seriously gave me a headache 😩 😫 😒

I’d be more accepting of jury duty if I was paid adequately for my time. To take unpaid time off work for possibly multiple days/weeks is unreasonable. It’s $15 a day where I live which is just absolutely inexcusable.

I think it got messy when she started to date the brothers and some see that as "messing with family" because of the dynamics. Then when the son went there it was automatic attack mode. After the first time I would have told him don't bring him back and took him to the uncle if he showed up to play no part in it.

I say this with love. Getting married does not solve mental illness, cheating, financial issues, or bad people. Its really morals and wisdom. This case was not about a couple, so are you insinuating they werent married or in loving relationships whjudge. Childrn were born. And even if they weren't, sometimes things don't work out. Sounds a bit judgy.

What if you can’t afford to take the time off required for jury duty? The Judge and her husband HAVE A LOT OF MONEY. I do not. It’s easy for them to lecture others when they don’t have a clue about the “real world “ and how hard it is to even buy groceries and pay rent.

I completely agree that the courts should pay for the juror’s time. And it should be much more than minimum wage. They should also provide free parking at the courthouse, free bus /train fare and give at least a modest daily cash allowance for lunch, or they could have a simple menu of cold lunches that the jurors order from the day before each day they serve. That way it would be easier for more people to be able to afford to be on jury duty. Obviously there would still be some people who couldn’t afford to just accept whatever the court pays, so they should be excused. Plus there would be other reasons to be released from jury duty (parents of young children that don’t have daycare, or those who are full time caregivers for disabled family members, or some who have an illness or disability that are unable to work a typical full day, etc. I wouldn’t want juries to be made up mostly of people who have higher incomes that can afford to take time off from work, or mostly older people who are already retired. Juries should have people from all walks of life, all income and education levels, all ages, religions, ethnicities, political beliefs, etc. That seems like the best way to make sure things are fair. As for Judge Milian scolding her friends and family if they try to get out of jury duty, I think she’s right. I bet most of the people she knows, the people that would call her to ask her to help them get out of it, are probably somewhat similar to her: college educated, older & more established in life, not a lot of people that are young and just starting out and scrambling to pay their bills. Plus she seems like a person who remembers that for some people it would be impossible to serve on a jury, at least at some times in their life.
