Kisuke Urahara has been theorised as an endgame villain as early as the first arc of the BLEACH manga, this is thanks to how Kubo portrays him as this shady figure who we know nothing about. In the end of CFYOW, when Kisuke has a conversation with Yoruichi about why he wanted to create such dangerous things as the Hogyoku, Kisuke even begins to wonder if his actions could bring danger or if he one day because of his curiosity or desire to Knowledge could end up following a path equal to or worse than Aizen had taken and makes Yoruichi promise to take care of him at the slightest indication of taking such a dark path.

True. It makes sense, no friend would allow another sink to that point even if it's inevitable with someone like Kisuke and his curiosity. It was interesting seeing Yoruichi's deadly assassin side show itself in that chapter. She's typically friendly and jovial that you forget she's a trained killer with plenty of blood on her hands.

From what i heard Urahara was meant to be the final villain instead of Aizen but it ended up changing after Kubo’s editor called it too cliche. This led Kubo to bring Aizen and create one of the most memorable characters in anime history

This is possible. He did express concern at the end of CFYOW of becoming a villain no different than Aizen or Mayuri. And it started fairly early in addition to his shady actions, with him and Yoruichi having been essentially killers for the decadent aristocracy. Between them they have a body count far larger than at least Aizen.

In CFYOW Tokinada even muses that they should conquer the worlds since they are especially brutal in their drive for power and willing to stomp on anyone to keep and maintain it.

Bleach to me never really was a story of good vs evil. Aizen himself stated that Urahara would be more fitting to execute what he wanted. He may have had secret in intensions but that doesn't mean that Ichigo and his friends weren't dear to him. Everyone knows how dangerous Urahara could be so it was better to expell rather than execute him by Soul society.

If aizen was a hero, the soul society would just have an extremely overpowered addition to their arsenal. Aizen could have even competed for captain commander in tybw because of how well he covers power and intellect. It gets even crazier if aizen still got the hogyoku but used it for good.

Urahara fusing with the Hogyoku, then becoming one with his sword (permanently active bankai) is basically game over for any enemy other than Yhwach. A fight between an evil transcendent Urahara and Yhwach would be so unbelievably destructive that there might not be anything left for the victor. Also, if Urahara had actually been evil, I could see both Aizen and Mayuri joining his side, just out of curiosity.

For the longest time, I was extremely suspicious of Urahara, especially when it turned out that for a good long while, every single move he made somehow always played into Aizen's hand.The Hougyoku debacle, sidelining Orihime and making her feel isolated, sending Ichigo & co then some captains into Hueco Mundo... It seemed to further Aizen's plan so perfectly that I still can't believe they weren't working together - or that at the very least helping Aizen wasn't in Urahara's interest. The TBtP arc clearly showed it was false, but still.

I thinkd the key difference between Kisuke and Aizen is how they reacted to the original sin, Aizen was disgusted and wanted to overthrow the system and create another, albeit with him at the head. While Urahara decided to work within and mostly protect the status quo, occasionally taking action to benefit himself and those closest to him.

Aizen was literally evil Urahara, designed by Kubo to replace Urahara as the main villain (which he was in the early concept draft) because he liked the character design and personality so much that he wanted him to be a protagonist. Initially, Aizen was actually just a nice guy who would die pinned to the wall during the SS arc.

I‘m not so sure about that, Aizen was ridiculously strong and had hax Zanpakuto abilities, Urahara is nowhere near as strong as Aizen. Pretty sure that like half the captains of Gotei 13 are also stronger than Urahara, so he wouldn’t come that far I think

There was this theory about him back at time when the manga. But an interesting passage is at end of CFYOW, hinting that he could have turned bad and that he wasn't that different from Aizen or Mayuri, leaving also "open" that this could still happen in future, even if he hopes that there would be someone to stop him of this happens.

Before watching kisuke would be a terrifying villian remember he was said to have a dark twisted past like mayuri that's why he knew someone as vile as Mayuri would be a great asset. Kisuke is the smartest person in the show and is basically bleach version of batman he is known for always having a way out of a situation. In my opinion Kisuke was the overall MVP of the whole series.

What if the Burn the Witch universe are composed of Quincies post TYBW Arc. Given that many Quincies survived the war, soul society must've given them a space wherein they could co-exist with the shinigami and protect the humans. Would be a cool twist to the story😊

My first thought when I considered the possibility of Urahara becoming 'evil' would be that it would force Aizen to take over Urahara's initial role rather than stay on his own initial path. As they seem to constantly balance each other out. I enjoyed this What If a lot, even though I would say in this version Urahara is misguided rather than outright evil, and also his motivation is not his desire for knowledge without any bounds (including moral ones) but rather revenge, which is interesting also, but not exactly what he fears himself. (Also, the novel doesn't state he is afraid to become like Aizen, he rather states it is a very thin line between him and Mayuri.) That said, I still think that Urahara is a great example of the certain type of characters (who are nominally on a 'good' side but then tend to use others as chess pieces every time they don't check themselves enough) who can actually be commended not only for the effort, but also for the result. I do think that initially he had next to no morals at all, and very little care for anyone (maybe excluding Yuruichi and Tessai, but than it's probably thanks to their influence that he even learned to care about anyone at all) but then he is also someone who consciously chose to strive to become a 'better' and more empathetic person. It was probably even before the Vizard tragedy, since by that time he did care and he chose to risk everything to save them even though there wasn't really any profit in it for him. He learned a lot of things during the next century, and he still makes mistakes when he doesn't take others' circumstances and feelings into consideration (and that ends up putting them in dangerous situations because of it), but he admits his mistakes and apologizes like he means it, which is rare. The novel shows him as someone who went quite a long way from the person who just wants to open any door for the sake of opening it and bringing something new into the world to a person who takes consequences and the effect it'll have on others into consideration. Someone who values any life capable of free-will decisions and thinks the choice should be made only by the ones directly affected by the result of it. And it feels like a hard-earned convictions which makes them more valuable. So I don't feel like we should expect him to become a villain in the future even though he himself isn't so sure.

Part 2: Yhwach kills death. Without Aizen Sosuke, there is no one to put Yhwach under complete hypnosis, so Yhwach kills Yamamoto, use Royd lloyd as a distraction, then he goes to the Royal Palace, where he and his Schutzstaffel kill the Zero Division, then Yhwach eats tthe Soul king, then he steals the Hogyoku - and since Urahara wouldn't have used the Hogyoku like Aizen did, he has an easier time, then he uses it to gain the powers of a shinigami and hollow so he can't be poisoned by Hollow Reiatsu, then Yhwach ends death. Remember, it took the combined might of transcendent Aizen, Ichigo, Renji, and plot arrow to defeat Yhwach in canon, and even then, without that bit of dumb luck on par ofthe protagonists what with Kazui, Yhwach could've came back. The hogyoku alone isn't going to cut it.

1:24 by far the best picture of Urahara ever LOL I just can't see Urahara being the bad guy... but honestly this what if does make sense for the type of person Urahara is... I just don't think he'd sacrifice Ichigo like that... I'd say he'd probably try to control him in some way... which I honestly think he could do it if he tried. In these events he has both of the hogyoku and he's also the smartest guy alive... he'd put some kind of kido or something in Ichigo to stop him if need be and keep him alive. I was thinking of a hell arc the other day. There are a lot of characters to reintroduce. In hell, assuming all dead captain-class shinigami end up there, you would have Tosen, Gin, Ukitaki, Yamamoto, and the first Kenpachi (who you know would be in charge like a boss lol), and those wre just the ones from the current era. There would be what, 6-7 other Kenpachi down there along with all the original Gotei and an unknown number of other former captains from the past. Plus all the dead Espada. Ulquirra gets there first, then literally like an hour later Yammi shows up and Ulquirra is just like "oh, goodie, you're here". It'll be a party, that's for sure.

Mayuri isn't beating Urahara and they both know it (they even joked about it in the Maggot's Nest, with Urahara stating that Mayuri would get everything if he died). Mayuri is very powerful, and can come up with a perfect solution to a single threat, but Urahara's bankai is just a horrible matchup with Mayuri's as it is a constantly evolving threat. You can't outsmart or out-trick Urahara--the enemies who could kill him (eg. Aizen, Ichigo, Kenpachi, Ichibe, etc.) can do so because they can just overpower how to the point where his tricks don't really matter (eg. to beat Aizen, he needed Ichigo because he wasn't a match for Aizen's raw power on his own).

Uryu shoots yhwach with a special metal arrow that Ryūken Ishida pulls out from uryu's mom's heart that forms when yhwach uses Auswählen to kill all half blood Quincy. The arrow cancels out all of yhwachs powers for one second and Ichigo cuts him in half and they use him as the new battery to hold the worlds together end of the 1000 year war, 10 years pass Ichigo and orihime have a kid and he absorbed the rest of yhwachs powers and Ichigo's kid is a soul reaper and send souls to hell thinking it's the soul society and throws the worlds out of order and hell breaks open and u get to see a new type of hollows and the 7th espada breaks free and he has a whole new bad ass design and all the captains that die end up as hells guardians. So we will probably see all the old captains and the og gotay 13.

I never really trusted him all he has ever done was lie and tell half-truths. Example was how he never told ichigo and his friends how dangerous the members of the Soul Society are and how they were too weak to ever rescue Rukia.

I want to come back in more detail later (cutting grass right now) but I think you have a major miscalculation in your what if. If Ichigo were to invade soul society at that power level I think it's quite possible Gin would halt his fight with him and attempt to use him to kill Aizen. Where would that lead Urahara afterwards, with his feelings now un settled would he end up turning towards the soul society which allowed it all to happen and turned against him?

In this alternate timeline the Quincy would win then. I really doubt even with Hogyoku Urahara would be able to defeat Yhwach. The Almighty is just that broken.
