I have the same hood noted in the above video and would like to switch over to LED bulbs due to the heat. We have actually burnt ourselves on the Halogen bulbs while reaching for the switch. I went to your site to find the LED switch but all I see there is the P1434 which appears to only be the Halogen switch. Where would I find the LED switch you reference the video. I realize this is an old video hope you still have the switch or a schematic of the parts to modify and make my own.

You have a few options. You can use my fluorescent rocker switch and use any LED bulb you would like. This switch has no low setting. You can find it on my websight P1432 ROCKER SWITCH FOR FLUORESCENT LIGHTS. if you use the switch im selling, it will only work with the bulbs we sell since the dimmer pack has to match the bulbs dim settings. For this reason I dont offer the switch separate, it would result in returns. On my websight we sell the bulbs and the switch as a kit

nice video, any link to the part? I am about to do it and would not have known to replace the switch with something different for an LED.

I love the idea of putting LED lights in my broan allure hood but because I have the old hi/low switch the LED'S dont work properly in the low setting. Can you point me toward buying just the switch with the diode ? I would buy a kit but cant use the 2 prong led's. Thanks,Perry

This is a real issue with dimming led bulbs. All the dimmable led bulbs are already set up with a chip that allows dimming. Those chips have a cutoff range of brightness. You end up having to perform trial and error with many different bulbs to find ones that work with the switch and dimmer you are using/. There is no easy way. I sell the bulbs with the switch. I pretested these to work with the switch and dimmer pack/. 90 percent of the bulbs out there do not work with the switch and dimmer pack im selling/.

i have a kenmore vent hood and the 2 prong g4 halogen bulbs keep burning out i went to home depot and purchased 2 prong FEIT electric LED but the burn out also. what do you think the problem could be? ballast?
@bobbygerber27644 жыл бұрын
My experience with bad ballasts over the years has shown they can burn out a brand new bulb immediately after they illuminate in 60 percent of the cases reported to my websight. A bad ballast can burn out bulbs. I would reach out to the manufacturer Kenmore directly or there factory rep and replace the ballast. For a part that will cost you only 30 to 40 dollars it will save you the frustration of burned out bulbs and there is not many other causes of bulbs repeatably burning out. A direct short in the electrical or a bad switch is less likely but still a possibility
