In Australia we say "Brevel", "Bre-ville" sounds so fancy. Very interesting to see an American baker prefer the Australian Breville over the US KitchenAid.

I'm really impressed by Breville appliances. They are very sturdy and often have quality of life features that other appliances don't include. I have a Breville immersion blender that has a rubber bottom so it won't scratch your cookware, and cutouts to prevent suction. My husband bought their juicer. It's kind of massive, LOL. These things are workhorses. I've been wanting to finally invest in a stand mixer and, of course, I've looked into KitchenAid. I'm disappointed in how they're just not made like they used to be, plus the recent lead scandal is really turning me off. I'm surprised Breville isn't making it into a lot of stand mixer review lists. Very happy to see this video.

I am going to try a Breville. I am tired of paying much more for the Kitchenaid only for them to burn out and need replacement. I’ll keep a Kitchenaid because of my investment in attachments, I’ll mix with the Breville.

Nice Review! I have had my Kitchen Aid Pro Series for a little more than five years, now, and it's still going strong--no problems whatsoever. I've made multiple batches of biscotti dough, bread dough, heavy cookie dough, mash potatoes almost on a daily basis.

The gears in the head of the kitchen aid break teeth. The metal then breaks more teeth. The gears are a replaceable part on your counter top. I’m not condoning the kitchen aid. I’m only saying the sound of the red unit sounds like broken gears, and can be fixed for about $50 usd. I replaced the gears in mine once, but I’m considering a Breville for the tilting head and lower noise.

That is a nice review. I was considering the Kitchen Aid series but after more than a year of casual looking around I find that the dissatisfaction with the brand's poor current quality to be too off puting to seriously consider a purchase. One detial on the Breville that has changed however is that the warranty is now one year - and they sell an extended 2 and 3 year second party warranty extension. That fact plus that they hide the information as best as they can on their site also makes me scratch this $400 dollar mixer from my list. I don't mind paying two or three times as much, but don't like dealing with companies that seem to be in quality decline as hinted by a drop in former service - so I'll keep looking.

I used to do some heavy duty work with Kitchen Aid (catering/double batches,etc. it just didn’t hold up! Ive had my current Breville for at least 6 years but not catering as much and careful not to put double batches at one time.

Nice video, thanks. I have a 32 year old KitchenAid, probably one of the last that was made with Hobart specs. It still works perfectly, although it probably should be re-greased. Did you look at Kenwood mixers when you did your reviews? They get good reviews, but some say they're not as good as they used to be, too. I'm hesitant to buy a mixer not made in USA in case of service problems, yet I don't really trust KA for a new one when the time comes. Thanks for your video.
@annskitchencreations3 жыл бұрын
Sashine: I have not looked at Kenwood mixers. I'm not doing as heavy duty baking now as when I was catering and made breads and double batches of cookies. Most regular kitchen mixers are just now as well made as the old ones from the 80/90's. Kitchenaid is a good product, but I wont buy the big one again.

@@annskitchencreations Thanks, Ann. We see KitchenAid in almost all cooking shows, KZbin channels, etc. and (generally) they get very good reviews on Amazon. There are pros and cons for each. I own the Breville now and I like it, but I haven’t had lots of use like when I was going heavy baking projects. I definitely won’t buy the larger caps it’s 6 qt kitchen aid as they do not last as promised for large capacity projects as they burn out fast. But for 5 qt I would buy the kitchen Aid.

Thank you so much for your great review. I grew up on Kitchenaid. My mother went through several, but she liked to make her own flour for her breads. This turned out to be too much even for the old KA's. I've had a few since then. The last one was a pro. However, a nasty divorce took that one from me, so I have no idea if it is still running. I have heard so many horror stories lately regarding the KA's. They seem to be getting exponentially worse in quality recently. I thought about going with their parent company, Hobart, but OMG!!!! they sure are proud of them. I've used them before, and they sure are work horses though. I'm looking at the Breville's now and have been impressed by the reviews. I wouldn't buy the hand mixers though. Nasty reviews.

Unfortunately, I am old enough to know that really good appliances that were made 25 years ago are still working and most of the appliances now-a-days have been outsourced and nobody even knows that good sturdy appliances ever even existed! So sad. My daughter has a Sumsung fridge that has been fixed so many times and still not working......

@@annskitchencreations Oh yes. It is all too common for those new fancy smancy appliances, whether it be a washer/dryer, mixer, range or refrigerators, they all seem to fail in not time at all. This was done intentionally a few generations ago. A decision made by most of the major corporations getting together and decided..."for the sake of the economy", to intentionally make their products self destruct. They programed us to be a disposable world. Until we stop buying their crap this will continue. However, I think everyone is getting sick and tired of this BS and MAYBE things will get better. Very disappointed to find that after spending $600 that this is not a lifetime purchase....After reading your review I kept searching and found these links from Mr. Mixer who goes into great detail on the Kitchenaid mixers and how easy it is to repair and take care of them. Maybe this will be helpful to some people with broken machines. This clip goes into the differences(Really the extreme similarities) of the Kitchenaid mixers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZfYY3hnodWbZsU And this one talks about how to fix yours :) You probably need two videos. One on how to change the control board(Super Simple) and the other on how to regrease(while you are replacing the control board). kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqnHgqF8aqaai80 Thanks again for the great review.

Stay away from KitchenAid. Their new mixers have nylon worm gears instead of metal gears. They've cheapened the brand by cutting corners but still charging premium prices. Their Pro line reportedly still uses metal gears, but as you've mentioned in your review, yours broke down pretty quick as well. Myself? I'm looking into a Breville. It sounds really noisy in your review though.
