I love canning. It's more tiring the older I get. Do you do canned saurkraut or just canned cabbage? I'd love to find a good saurkraut recipe.

Your garden looks fantastic. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing those harvest tips. Growing Chamomile for the first time this year. Big mistake, not harvesting everyday. We just had torrential rains yesterday on top of the 1.5" we had over the weekend. I'm thankful for that rain here in SE Nebraska. I very impressed with your carrots. Wish I could grow them like that. I'm gonna try it this fall.

Hey Tracy, I got me about half a dozen of those little wire trash baskets (like 4 gallon size) from dollar tree and they make amazing picking containers. They breathe so the vegetables don’t sweat. I can carry them all over the garden as I pick because they are so small and lightweight. When you take them inside, they keep the vegetables fresh til canning. So dry and hot here too. I’m about an hour from you. Hopefully we will have rain soon. I canned 5 quarts of tomatoes and three pints of green beans today. I love small batch canning. Happy gardening. 👩‍🌾🍅💚🌻

Why do you score the bottoms of the tomatoes?

When thawed, the scoring allows the skins to slip off easily.

Is that a black mesh, 60% - 70% UV ray blocking, shade tarp from/ similar to Harbor Freight Tools? If so consider throwing one over that dog shelter roof too. Those tarps work best with at least a bit of dead air space and if we put one(s) on a roof, we wrap it around some 4"x4" 's

@@genebritnelljustdigitfarms2607 i believe the textile its self is the same. Im thinking that most of the high tunnel/ green house shade cloths have a tighter and more even weave than the comparatively less expensive tarps from Harbor Freight.
