A great help! The process was straightforward, but I found no branding at all on my faucet. I had to buy a 7/64" hex key and channel locks, then measure the O-rings and guess. First guess wrong, 2nd was right and the package says for "Delta and Peerless Faucets". Hope this helps someone. So nice not to have a leaky faucet anymore!

Just fyi, before buying new o-rings check to make sure yours didn't just come unseated. This was the case in my Moen single handle faucet. The o-ring had partially come out of the groove of the plastic piece it sits in but was otherwise okay. I suspect pivoting the faucet from one sink to the other unseated it over time. Reseating it fixed my leak.

@SkyManagement

You don’t have to. But, when rolling the o-ring down if you put the top one in first, the bottom one can roll over the top of it without getting stuck in the groove. Probably more important when removing them. If you do the bottom one first, it can pass over the top one. Without getting stuck in the groove and have to dig it out again.

Could the leak at the base also cause leaking under the sink? My base is leaking and also water dripping under the sink. I’m going to try the steps in this video and hopefully it fixes both my issues.
@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Most of the time we have to fix this issue it is because a resident has seen water dripping under their sink. Water comes out around the collar or “neck” of the sink and runs down and finds a way underneath . Ultimately dripping down below. If your sink has water coming out around the collar while on… this should take care of you! Good luck! 🍀

@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 3 жыл бұрын
The link to the o-rings in the description shows how to measure them if you want to order individual ones in the size you need. We have multi-family properties, so having extras around is never a bad thing. Lol If you are getting calcium build up around the base, then i would guess it is probably leaking. Especially if you live somewhere with hard water, this is extremely common.

I have a Price Pfister faucet myself. Looks very similar. Mines leaking above and below the spout connection. Took everything apart but I can't see to get the spout off. I yank and pull up on it and it moves maybe a 1/16" of a inch up and down but doesn't come off. I've tried tapping it up with a wrench and still no luck. The spout spins and moves super freely but no luck getting it to come completely off. I am still waiting for Price Pfister to get back to me with the model number and replacement parts as its under the lifetime warranty.

Make sure the water is off in case you have a ball joint style, then you can tap around on the ring with your wrench or something to hopefully break loose any build up. Then if you still can't get it, you can use a pipe wrench, but I'd put a towel or something around it because it can tear up the finish on it pretty easy.

At 3:50, when you slip the last o-ring on the top spout part, was that a new o-ring, too, or did you just replace the other two? (I know it's best just to replace all of them if you're repairing it, but was curious because I'm not sure my repair kit came with that third particular o-rings.) Thanks!

@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 3 жыл бұрын
It can be confusing which is why we linked a universal set that should cover most faucets. There are many single handle tap faucets that look “similar”. I would think one of the larger o rings in that set would work. They are meant to be a tight fit so you might need to stretch them over the top so they slide into the channels . When in doubt you can remove one of the rings and take it to a local hardware store and they should have something that would work. I’m sorry you are having issues.

Sky Management I followed the steps but the handle will not come off! I am stuck on this part because if I force would something break? I checked and the one screw I took out did nothing. Its a cheap Waterpick one lever with spray detachment nozzel. Its ok if I need to change valve and seals, if only I can get it off :(
@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 3 жыл бұрын
The handles can be stuck on pretty good sometimes. If you have removed the set screw then I would wiggle it and try to force it off. (Make sure the water is turned off) The worst that would happen would be the top of the cartridge could break off. But, if you think the Carthage may need to be replaced anyway, then that might not be a big loss.

Sky Management sadly just found out my faucet is discontinued and no parts like valve are available so on to a new faucet by another brand.

Sky Management the handle finally came off pulling upwards hard. The rest was stuck. Nothing was getting anything to budge. Took pics went to hardware store and they said this brand discontinued kitchen faucets and no parts are available. So the whole faucet needs to be replaced. I can’t open it past getting handle off. Cartridge cannot be removed its inset. The geniuses did not put a hex to remove it or anything the screws off.

How do you know what brand faucet you have ?what size o ring used ?
@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 4 жыл бұрын
It’s best to remove the old ones and take them with you to the hardware store to match them. But if you are going to order them, you could try to measure the diameter. There are also variety packs that have lots of sizes in them but this would be much more expensive. A single set is only a dollar or two.

How to open collar neck nut video please
@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 3 жыл бұрын
First turn off the water at the shut off valves under the sink. Then, we use a pair of adjustable pliers in the video (you can also use a pipe wrench) to unscrew the collar. They can get pretty stuck on there over time. Sometimes it helps to gently tap on the collar a bit with the wrench to help break it loose.

I have a Moen faucet in my RV The disassembly is similar to the faucet in your video but without the rubber o rings. Any suggestions to what I do?
@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 3 жыл бұрын
I’m stumped on that one. Any moen single handle tap that I have ever worked on uses o rings for the seals on the faucet. If there is none then the only other seals in it are part of the cartridge. You would either need to remove and take to a supply store or google the faucet model number to find out more. Sorry I couldn’t be more help

It’s hard to say without looking at it… if it only leaks when it’s running then I would check the sprayer connection first. If it uses the quick connect, sometimes they can be a little finicky if it’s not snapped on just right.

@@SkyManagement It looks like you got it. It's difficult getting down there with my bad back, but I figured that you must know what you're taking about, so I made the effort to see where the water was coming from. It wasn't a leak, it was just water pouring unhindered out of the CENTRAL nozzle. So, it looks like I have to reconnect one of the hoses to the Central connection; then, I have to decide what to do with the...no, wait, the diagram explains. I was right to connect the hot and cold water lines to the two outside threaded cylinders extending below the sink. Then, the sprayer has to be connected through the central hole.. I will then have a sprayer. My old set-up had the hole for the sprayer plugged-up. and that was good enough for me. (Who needs a sprayer?) However, I have no objections to having one, and if my new faucet set requires that it be installed, so be it.THANKS A MILION!!! I THINK I CAN TAKE IT FROM HERE.

So what caused the leak? The rings are not of the right size? I have a Moen kitchen faucet installed and in a couple of days this problem began to occur. After a few months, it has gotten more serious! The plumber did not admit this problem and said it is because I let water splash on it.
@SkyManagement
@SkyManagement 3 жыл бұрын
If it started again immediately, then it could be that the seals were the wrong size. The carriage can also leak out of the top and it will look like the same issue. But replacing the o-rings won’t fix it. Here is a link to a video on how to change the Carthage. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWibc4SfoJtgl8k I hope this was helpful.

There are different diameters and thickness depending on the brand. The easiest thing to do is remove the old ones first and take them to the hardware store and compare them to the new ones. Any hardware store should carry a variety of sizes.

I could not remove the neck on my American Standard faucet. I tried to pull it off and thought I was going break it off the sink. As usual, these videos make things look simple, but in reality they are not. I will call a plumber to R&R the seals.
