I'm know for my versatile as I can do lots of different type of work, so I have to say how versatile you are👏, you can first fix top class, you can 2nd fix class, and kitchen fitting really good. Even those pipes you cut around under the boiler how neat it is. Brilliant as not many would notice in there. Your scribes look great. What I mean about your versatility is , I have seen really class roofers not the best at 2nd fix, I worked with a carpenter years ago when I started to learn , like you! He'd was roofing a big hipped roof and a month later he was fitting a oak stairs at a class standard. You reminded me of him. Excellent video, you should have apprentice learning of your skill. Also I haven't seen the moisture strip on the kicker board before. From Ireland 🇮🇪 so go easy 🤣👍

I disagree actually. It might only be saw dust, but its still an irritant and no need for it especially on a domestic indoors project - not least for your own health if you're doing it day in day out. Patio doors won't save your lungs. I believe that there's talk in EU of introducing legislation that requires mechanical extraction and containment of all airborne building / construction dust in both domestic and commercial works, and both indoors and outdoors. I don't know if UK would follow suit, but it's got to be a good thing for us all.

@thetallcarpenter
@thetallcarpenter 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerry. I didn't show it, but I fitted a couple of stretcher plates across the join on the back either side of a plinth clip. I made it so the curved section and the short section of plinth come off in one for access to the washing machine filter. The kitchen is by Crown. Cheers👍

After watching Robin i'm considering overboarding my old nasty unit / cooker wall with 18mm fire rated MDF, do you think I can rely on them for cupboard fixings? Great looking finish. Only bit that would mess with my ocd is that end panel breaking the line of the toe kick. Any reason you didn't cut it back behind the trim?
@thetallcarpenter
@thetallcarpenter 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert. Your spot and your comment is great.🤩 I don't like the disruption to the plinth line either. If the plinth run was shorter, I would have cut the bottom of the panel back as you say.😎 However, this plinth run was over 3meters, (the length of the plinth material), so if I cut the cut the bottom of the panel back, it would have lead to a joint which I like less than the end panel going to the floor.😬 Would you have had a plinth joint over the full height end panel?😀 Cheers
@ratkinson-uk
@ratkinson-uk 3 жыл бұрын
@@thetallcarpenter I'd have to say yes. I'm sure they must do a jointing strip. My worry is that it's close to the cooker so will end up getting kicked and broken over time, or at least the edge trim torn off.
@thetallcarpenter

Whats the best was to fit a wall boiler housing unit cupboard of you don't have room to have the housing unit up tight to the wall unit next to it?
@thetallcarpenter
@thetallcarpenter 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan. Its a difficult one to answer.😬 If you haven't got room between the boiler and the adjoining cupboard, then I would just hang the door on the opposite side and let it flap closed against a little block maybe.🤨 Sorry I cant be anymore help than that.👍 Cheers
@bmxerboynathan
@bmxerboynathan 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I meant if your boiler was closer to the side wall would you just out a filler panel in between the boiler housing unit and the wall unit? You would have a filler panel either side or just screw the one side to the dabbed wall?
@thetallcarpenter
@thetallcarpenter 3 жыл бұрын
@@bmxerboynathan Its soo hard to call Nathan.😬 I think I get what you mean. I have before mounted the door to the adjoining cupboard with no filler panel, and then attached a strip of carcass material to the flapping side of the door. (against the wall). This then swings open with the door, but looks like a filler panel when its shut. (you might need a little bracket somewhere on the wall for the door/panel to rest on.
