Kitchen Remodel Part 1b - Sign Contract, Remove Wall Tile and Flooring, Offload New Cabinets

In this Part 1b video, I briefly flashback two months earlier when Diane and I sat down at our dining room table with Tony, owner of Tim’s Custom Cabinets, and signed a contract to remodel our old kitchen with new cherry wood cabinets and a quartz countertop. Then returning to the present, Cody chisels off the old wall tile backsplash, with some help from Diane and myself, and Cody and Chris pull up the laminate flooring completing the demo of our old kitchen. Next, they carefully offload the new cabinets into our garage and dining room, and then shove our old cabinets into their truck. Thus, our kitchen demolition step is complete!
Background: Having spent four years of our retirement in a small ranch style house built in 1978, we were ready to remodel the worn-out farm style kitchen. But the timing was bad. We were in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and most contractors in the area were overbooked and unavailable, even for an estimate. Then one day as we again passed by Tim’s Custom Cabinets, located at a new round-about in a residential area, we stopped in to inquire if they could give us an estimate. A month later, we sat down with Tony, the owner of Tim's Custom Cabinets and signed a contract for a major kitchen remodel. As it turned out, this remodel project took excruciatingly long to complete and was extremely disruptive to our daily life.
The total cost: A lot of clams!
