I have a KitchenAid dish washer that in July of 2013 will B 19 years old. Still runs and cleans just fine. I bought and installed it when we bought this home. It's a little bit loud, but it wz when we bought it. I will buy this brand again. Excellent machine.

Great review and high video production value. I also wanted to point out to the person who wondered why you didn't place the pan in the uppermost rack was because this dishwasher has specific pot scrubber nozzles at the rear of the bottom rack, which you pointed out. I guess in one ear and out the other.

Thanks for making this KZbin video. Looks like this is the dishwasher I'm going to buy now. I'm hoping this high end dishwasher will fill the gap left by the new phosphate free detergents.

I notice that the 3rd rack looks like its split down the middle. Can you lift up on piece and snap them together to make a fully enclosed basket? One of the other dishwashers I'm considering (I think its an LG) has a 3rd rack that does that, and with the amount of sippy cup lids and valves I have to deal with thanks to my kid, it almost has me sold. The Kitchenaid looks nice though. (And so quiet! My last dishwasher, a Jenn-Air, sounded like a freight train!)

@buffyfoo You mention the Bosch 800 is one Db quieter, better rates of reliability and more efficient. You fail to mention, however, how it completes the primary task of a dishwasher... actually cleaning dishes. I'm not knocking whatever dishwasher you are mentioning... I'm sure it's a good dishwasher. Myself, though... I have two Kitchenaides, though, and none have ever experienced problems. Both are so quiet you can't hear them run. But the best thing about them is how well they clean.

Why does the kniferack help? Because you can put knives in it. Am I missing something? If so, please be more specific in your questioning. As far as the hydro aweep arm question from TheMaytagRepairMan... I don't know. My profession isn't in sales or repairs... I deal in the insurance industry and this is only a review from personal experience, not as a professional. I can't tell you if it has or ever had a hydro sweep wash arm.

I have to laugh at all the arguing going on here about Bosch vs Kitchenaid...who knew people could get so bent out of shape about dishwashers! The reason I would buy the latter is if you compare interior size and space in the racks the Kitchenaid will always hold more. Unless you only have 1 or 2 people in the house a Bosch will need to be run more often which is a waste of time and water. Both are a good choice, but I'd take the Kitchenaid. Nice Video

HEY DID YOU KNOW THAT YOUR THIRD RACK IS ALSO ADJUSTABLE YOU CAN PUT THEM IN HORIZONTAL OR VERTICALLY UPPERING OR LOWERING THESE RACKS. THE FIRST AND SECOND RACKS HAVE ADJUSTABLE TINES ETC GOOD JOB. LIKE I SAID YOU CAN ADJUST THE CULTERY RACK. ALWAYS USE JET DRY AND POWDERED CASCASE IN THIS DISHWASHER OUT CLEANS LIQUIDS BY A LONG SHOT. P.S. LET ME KNOW SHAWN

Don't think all KA dishwashers are this quite. There are many different models some are quite some are not, it all depends on the model. If it has a stainless steel tub and insulation around it, its going to be more quiet than a plastic tub and insulation. Noticed an old comment below about a dishwasher that's new that doesn't drain. Remove the knockout in your garbage disposal so it can drain LOL. We get calls about once or twice a week about this same problem. Brand new dishwasher and it don't drain, or suddenly their old dishwasher isn't draining. $60 to simply remove the knockout plug in their new garbage disposal LOL.

Our Bosch dishwasher (SHE55M12UC) is 46 decibels quiet. Can barely hear it. And what little noise it does make, is actually pleasant. . You had a cheap model. Also, the bottom racks on this KitchenAid, 'cough' Whirlpool, look very unrefined. My Bosch can fit 2 or 3 times as many dishes on the bottom. I see you have a turbo zone, but didn't use it for the fry pan??? I will never buy a Whirlpool made dishwasher again. We had one, no thanks.

That was 2005? We got rid of it in 2010 'Einstein'. Wouldn't even clean tomato sauce off the dishes when we got rid of it. And who thought of the brilliant idea of putting the silverware rack in the door? That is dumbest thing ever. wheels on the upper left rack fell off after 4 yrs, snap for the silverware rack would no longer stay in place. Total piece of crap, No Whirlpool dishwashers or their other brands, ever again. Very happy with our Bosch that replaced that sorry excuse for a d.washer

Do not buy Kitchen Aid dishwasher. i bought my from Sears two years ago. It has been sit there like an eyesore because it is not drain the water. The power is there, water cycle comes on and that is about it. it does not advance to the next cycle. The water is just accumulate. Does any one has an idea of what is the real root cause of this? Thanks. BTW, i will never buy kitchen aids product again because they have product support.
@BroccoliBeefed12 жыл бұрын
That is such a crock. We had a Kenmore/Whirlpool 2005 model, that wouldn't clean off tomato paste after 4 years. What a piece of shit. And it wasn't an inexpensive model. $650. That's USA-American 'quality' for ya. I wouldn't wish Whirlpool's products on my worst enemy.

Uh ow.....Pantyhouse crawled up again from under his moulded stone to give his usual non important comments. He loves KITCHENAFRAID dishwashers. But people be aware; Pantyhouse comes from a very distant planet where no dishwasher owner listens to him, that's why he 'screams' here in capital letters LOL

Vlampier, bosches are overpriced and don't work any where as good as a kenmore, wait I said that wrong, a Bosch could never beat a kenmore, which is what I have and It works better that a Bosch, which I traded for a kenmore.

If you want a real dishwasher go buy you a vintage kitchen aid made from the 50s through the 80s by Hobart that is a real dishwasher that will wash your dishes sanitize them and dry them within 45 minutes this is a joke made by Bosch they last a Bosch appliance I had was a washer and dryer Went completely out plus the service techs around my neck of the woods will not even come service a Bosch.dishwashers today are a far cry from yesteryear it takes them way longer to wash dishes how is that more efficient and everybody keeps bitching about the water water doesn't even cost that much I would rather pay a little bit on my water bill to get my dishes clean I've had it with new appliances and I think it's pathetic i've had to go back and buy a working vintage equipment that actually does the job when these appliances now won't do the trick properly I think people have forgotten what dishwashers are actually supposed to do

You are so right. There will never be another dishwasher like the Hobart KitchenAid. In it's day, no other dishwasher out cleaned the KitchenAid. At one point, GE made an acentric orbit wash arm that consumer reports claimed did better than the KitchenAid Hydro-Sweep, bit not by much. Plus you had to buy the higher end machines to get that wash arm.. With KitchenAid, you got the same Hydro-sweep wash system no matter what model you purchased. So, KitchenAid still won.
@imperiallebaron44768 жыл бұрын
I also don't trust an appliance that doesn't make any noise. The Hobart KitchenAid had a unique sound to it. Solid and well built.. These machines were really commercial Hobart dishwashers designed for the consumer. So you got the best of both worlds. A dishwasher designed for heavy commercial use for the consumer. So you got the best of both worlds. WIN WIN!
