Great video! I watched this video in hopes of figuring out why my new 2023 KMBP100ESS is having “Door Open Close Door Issues”. This new model, although KitchenAid support says the door design doesnt require to be push close, requires you to push it close with moderate effort. Repeating the process Sometimes even after selecting your functions. Its a shame that after 5 years KitchenAid has not resolved the “door” issues.

Will a failed switch typically result in a 'door' error when trying to use the microwave? Or is the 'door' error a result of a blown fuse? How can I determine which door switch has failed?

@@janinebooth9913 I was prepared to replace both door switches, but luckily the first one I pulled tested bad with the multimeter. I bought a replacement and the problem was resolved.

Steve Hindman hey man! I am getting a door error too. Any chance you could walk me through what you did to fix it? Was it a fuse?

@@Ranger_1349 Hi Nick, my microwave's convection heating system died a couple of months after I fixed the door, so I had to get rid of it. I don't remember the process anymore, but know that I opened the chassis and pulled the fuse, then tested it and found that the resistance read 0, which meant it was still good. Then I unscrewed a door switch from its mount and pulled it. I tested using the process from this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWiwpGqIj8Zgl9U.
