Nothing like the heat the grills puts off, when you are hanging out in the cold. And nothing like the peace and quiet because everyone else is inside their homes.

I'm in Canada and plan to grill year round so these are good tips. I like the idea of a headband flash light too! I'm not a young fella so my eyes don't work so good in the dark any more.

Nice video, I like the cheese slices and bacon n tomato pieces, we live in the Uk and winters in the north can be quite cold n snowy but I started something in 2000 when I got our 57cm weber kettle charcoal grill and other than very recently I’ve made it a tradition to smoke an whole Salmon on Boxing Day, our first borns Birthday , cooked indirect on low coals with soaked hickory chunks on the coals to provide the flavour. Guts taken out of the Salmon, clean and washed then rubbing salt inside and out with oil mixed with a little sugar on the skin and cavity cos that helps the smoke to stick, takes about 1 1/2hours depending on the size and temperature. It’s so delicious, and very juicy. The skin just peals of as does the whole spine and head. Mmmmmm

Up here in Canada, I’m not able to smoke in winter with the wsm, since the temps never reach 250. But low and slow works great with charcoal kettles. The problem is that the grill is stuck in ice for 3 months.

You're doing it again! Now, I'm really jealous! We live in an apartment complex, where we can't have a grill, just one of those park grills that is central to everybody. Had to abandon my smoker (WSM) at my son's house. It's not conveniently located. Still determined, though. Keep those videos coming! :)

You need to make a grill Island whether it's with stacked up Stones or even a cutback in a bank but you can cover up keep the weather out of it and the wind out of there
@KitchenAlpha2 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea! Need to work on that!

Is that the thermopen one you are using? I saw your review for the other probe but don’t want one like that but want a decent quick probing one,what would you recommend ? Also keep up the good work im loving the bbq videos all the way from Southampton England ,only a couple of months longer and I can unleash grilling fury You should do an ultimate burger video :)

Yes the green one is the Thermapen and I do recommend it! They also have some other options available and are a good company to order from.

Ryan I've been watching your videos for a bit now and I've noticed that when you're grilling, there's a lot of room around you. My back deck is small and I've got about 5 feet from the side of my house to the end of the deck. Is that enough? I imagine the Weber 22" kettle I have is going to get pretty hot and I don't want to be lighting any fires!

I actually like grilling in the cold, not too cold though. 23 degrees is brutal.
