Gordon however, has dedicated his entire life to cooking, gone to dozens of countries and even more villages solely to improve as a chef.

after all the horrible people i've seen among the owners on the KN, this episode is really heartwarming. Not without it's trauma and the owner stuck in her mistakes, but she really turned out to be a good at heart person and actually loving her son, too. So I'm really happy for them in the end, without the usual sad feel that this all will just come back to what it started as, as soon as Ramsay's team sets their foot out the door.

Goodness, if you go read her CSU alumni page you can see just the vast amount that she's achieved in her life. Even putting the restaurant aside she'd achieved more in her first 30 years of life than many will achieve in their entire life. And yet she was still so lacking in self confidence and so afraid of failure. It really goes to show how important those formative years are that a person such as Dr Morris could still be facing that negative impact of losing her mother young so many years later. I hope she continues to do well in life, and I hope Keone has found his passion in life also.

Yep. Compared with the incompetent sociopaths we usually see on RKN, this woman is an incredible human being, whose achievements few of us could ever hope to match. And maybe fear of failure is one of the things that drives people who operate at the highest level? Weirdly, I can kind of sympathize with the doctor. Imagine if you spend your whole life dragging yourself onward, achieving goal after goal by just pulling through. It is really hard to make that change towards putting other peoples judgement above your own. It is one thing to be in denial out of arrogance, but a completely different affair when it is because all you had was you through all your life. I can also understand the bitterness of her son, though. Imagine being raised by a person that knows nothing but individual perseverance and dedication. You watch the person you love and admire the most run herself down into a corner without realizing it and unable to be helped. The frustration must be colossal.
@itsashton34093 жыл бұрын
To be honest I don't think you should have to say "weirdly". Everyone has their own lives, ambitions and stories. Nobody is without quirks or flaws. I love watching Gordon Ramsay videos, but I find his stans jump on anyone in these shows who doesn't automatically worship him. You have to understand these are people at the end of their tether, who've put their all into something (generally - others are just awful, but she seems really genuine).
@Abfallkannibale3 жыл бұрын
@@itsashton3409 I do though, since in this episode, she had to fill the role of the antagonist to Gordon and got heavily molded into it. Especially in the US version of Kitchen Nightmares, the emphasis on drama and conflict is much more prevelant than in the british version. Most of Gordons outbursts (if not all of them) are played up for the show to make it more interesting. He always has an antagonist to fight, too, since it creates excitement and draws the viewer in more effectively. Also, production heavily cuts and rearranges dialog in the show, especially in this episode. Nowhere is this made more obvious than when Gordon meets Madame at the beginniong of the episode. When she introduces herself to him, the "doctor morris" is edited in so badly, that you can hear thar the soundclip used is borrowed from one of the servers. She is made up to be hard relate, since noone wants to identifywith a micro-managing crazywoman. I totally get what you mean, though. I mostly whatch the US series to find those flaws in sound design, to be honest.

Yeah, Gordon tells her what’s wrong with the rice, and the thing she wants to immediately focus on is the unease/hurt she is feeling. Is this how you communicate? Gordon asks her why is she stubborn, and gets no answer. Gordon asks her why is she in denial, and gets no answer. Ever try to work things out with a person like this? It’s impossible, because nothing gets done and nothing goes forward, because these people will endlessly twist everything said as an attack on their person, dancing around the actual subject until the one bringing up issues just gives up out of frustration.

First three rules I learned as an assistant of a very good restaurant manager was: 1. Look after your staff, make sure they have everything to do their job. 2. Look after the hygenic standards, 3.
