I think that's the point. It was quick, random, unneeded but happened anyways. When they're told that her ghost basically says "it was me who said to take a break, don't worry about it." It was casual. Like how causing a death in this anime was like apologising to a friend for doing some small mistake.

okay so kite is definitely alive but ya know, incognito. imma bring up pr good points but feel free to debate with me. just to get this out of the way, at the end, 'KITE' goes live which could confused ppl bc ya know. um. he's supposed to be dead. but then it shows that scientist dude setting up the livestream. so you can assume that the scientist dude is now taking over KITE's channel. HOWEVER, notice the technology the scientist is sitting in. any other person wouldn't really be able to communicate with the scientist since he was paralyzed. and we already know how big brain KITE is. so, it's a reasonable guess that KITE made the chair for scientist. now, you might bring up the argument that KITE's sister or daughter or whatever was the one who made it instead. HOWEVER, i have come to the conclusion that the clip of the little girl who looks like KITE, IS KITE. yup. kite is a trans guy. if you look at the scene before the little girl, you can see that it shows PAST memories of every person. therefore, that little girl would be KITE. thus, KITE IS TRANSS WOOHOO. another piece of evidence was when they started playing that song in the livestream thing. if you notice, that song was from the record that glasses dude had. and if you connect the dots, only KITE would have known the song and would've put it in his livestream. alright now the biggest piece of evidence that people have been bringing up is that the main girl saw KITE in the bleachers at her final race thingy. i would like to clarify that she actually did not see him. therefore, what us viewers saw couldn't have been a hallucination from the main girl because she didn't even see them. so that's why i strongly believe that he is still alive. :D

Reason of why Kite is alive : It's simple. If you watched the anime then you will remember that someone die everytime they take a photo but Kite didn't took one before leaving. Obviously he is alive and it's him in the stadium I don't know why ppl think he is dead, it's implied that he is alive.

I know this is controversial... But I go by the films layout. And in that Kite died and Japan uses his Avatar as a symbol of hope and perseverance. Would appear his may have fans who cosplay as him as well, which he wanted all along being a KZbin star. A rule of film typically goes, if you don’t definitely see them alive, they are gone. Which is made even sadder when you really see his character from the beginning when he could have flown away, but landed, basically sacrificing himself from the very beginning for others.

Kite’s Alive people Evidence number 1: Towards the end of episode 10 they show Ayumu walking out of the building when her phone suddenly beeps showing a notification saying that “kite is streaming LIVE NOW” Then Ayumu says “he seems to be doing well”. So it is impossible that they spot Kite and rescued him. The one you saw in the Paralympic competition is probably a die hard fan of kite who wore the same shirt and dyed his hair white. Note: that Kite is the most famous youtuber in Japan, so it was probably that someone made a tribute to him by copying his attire and hair.

While it's possible he could have scheduled the video to be sent earlier, this seems unlikely. -right near the end (after the 8 year skip) Ayumu sees a notification about Kite's new video and says "he seems to be doing well" ("she looks well" in the original JP audio)
