Aa a person who's taught adventure activities for many years, I completely respect the simplicity of the this coaching style. Less, really is more. Great content, explanation and filming 🙏👌

Toeside backroll. Good tutorial. A way to keep your edge and release more pop is to kick your front foot away kicking down into the water.

This is a inverted backroll or backflip .

Is there a backflip without toside? Or is that just a back roll?
@kitesurfcollege5 жыл бұрын
Good day Ignacio. The backflip from toeside shown in this video is actually a backroll in kiting. It's a popped backroll, launching from toeside and landing toeside, with an invert of the body. That's not a very catchy title of course. And yes, you can do this from heelside, although it's a bit harder, and then it would technically be a front roll.

Perhaps a toeside tantrum ?

I have an Wakeboard backround and this Trick is called Bell Air in wakeboaring. Also it looks very much like an Tantrum. Can you call it Tantrum or Bell Air in kiteboaring aswell?
@Iamnickteixeira4 жыл бұрын
Nope
@michaelabarcab3 жыл бұрын
Tantrum and Bell air are from heelside
@markusseitle37403 жыл бұрын
is this similar to a bel air on the cable?
@michaelabarcab3 жыл бұрын
Yeah but bell air is from heelside backflip one handed. Bell air is not from toeside. 👍
@andrasgefferth9683 жыл бұрын
I am confident at riding toeside, but unable to give it the additional strong edge and can't do a decent pop. Board hardly leaves the water. Is it bad technique or lack of muscles? During toeside ride I feel a lot of pressure in my back leg and it feels like impossible to add some more pressure for the edge. I don't have this issue while doing the heelside pop.
@kitesurfcollege3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andras, that's probably the biggest road block for most people. I can't say for sure without seeing your toeside riding but most likely you need to turn away form the kite and lean over the toeside edge to apply more toeside pressure (probably on the front and back foot), and also probably add more speed. Are you producing much spray from your board while riding toeside? If you have decent speed and toeside pressure then there should be plenty of spray shooting off the board (see 0:48). Good luck Andras. All the best, Alex

Is it like doing an olie on a snowboard
@kitesurfcollege5 жыл бұрын
Hello Niek. I don't think it's very similar. You use a lot of pressure on your toes & toeside rail for this, and a snowboard ollie you use a lot of tail pressure but ride the board pretty flat, not much heel or toe edge.
@niekvanwensen5 жыл бұрын
Kite-Surf-College Tutorials and Tricks oh ok thanks👍
@kitesurfcollege5 жыл бұрын
@@niekvanwensen you can do it. Learn to pop from toeside first. Then try the toeside back flip with the kite slightly high to reduce the risk. You'll get there.
@michaelabarcab2 жыл бұрын
I can do it with a kite backloop too
@thomaszahradnik7176 жыл бұрын
Isn't this a hooked in tantrum, or also known as ...?
@kitesurfcollege6 жыл бұрын
Thomas Zahradnik yes, I think the backflip movement is very similar to a wake board tantrum. Although, I think a tantrum is a back flip from heelside?
@speckdratz6 жыл бұрын
Kite-Surf-College Tutorials and Tricks A Tantrum in wakeboarding is a heelside backflip using a kicker. When doing a toeside backflip without a kicker it's usually referred to as Bel Air. Yeah. Somebody decided it would be nice to give every trick a different name 😂
@michaelabarcab3 жыл бұрын
@@kitesurfcollegetantrum is a and one handed backflip (inverted backroll) from heelside .
