ah, Mauritius! say hi to Vlad, the foiling guy with the colorful strutless kite - he's a mad dude, totally insane and foils like crazy! I hope to get there someday. Meanwhile my Section 7m just finished its life - about 600 hours total, I gave it to my friend to fix the trailing edge and use in lessons cos the cost of repair is the same as the cost of the kite here. Now I am riding GTS 9m with Core Sensor bar, which feels much lighter than 7m Section with Cabrinha bar - it feels like a Cabrinha bar could do ok with 10cm extenders on the control lines to fly a Core canopy. Now I am relearning pop and rotate for the strapless foiling backroll kiteloop but the upwind 360 goes much better and I am pleased with GTS. Mauritius wave looks like some learning for me - I'm most used to Mui Ne Malibu where its side on mess with more left waves and going regular frontside most of the time. Goofy frontside is harder for me.
@stevenakkersdijk4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately not in Mauritius any more, so I think I missed Vlad. 600 hours on a kite is great! Sounds like it has had a long and good life. The Cabrinha bar has a low V where the CORE bar has a high Y split. I'll be releasing a video about this soon, but in short you'll experience higher steering forces, a slower steering kite that loops more around the tip and you'll also need to depower a bit on the lower V. Enjoy Mui Ne!
@fifty-sqrd4 ай бұрын
@@stevenakkersdijk thanks! Not sure I'm going to Mui Ne soon cos the timezone there is just a bit inconvenient! But I totally think about moving closer to an Ocean if I keep my remote job in 5 months)

In the summer there is no need for a wetsuit and I was there during fall so I do have a very thin wetsuit under my clothing. In winter they ride with a 3/2 wetsuit I believe, but it's still quite warm. For sure a very nice place to explore!

what earbuds are you using for music? Sick video as always...
