This is a great point of view, and exactly my experience in 2022 winter in Tarifa, although not a complete beginner. Looking forward to go back and shred a bit more.

Great video. I would have added Valdevaqueros for levante days

Love Tarifa had 3 holiday there in two months this year I learned there, yes super challenging place to learn but they do have some of the best instructors in the world and if you can learn in Tarifa you can go anywhere in the world afterwards, if you learn in a shallow flat water lagoon you will still be like a complete newbie when going to a place with more challenging conditions

That's true 👍 if you make it here, you can make it anywhere

Looks like the chop in poniente is the worst close to the beach in the real shallow part where the waves break. At least that's what I saw in your video and seems logical. It's absolutely on my list to go to Tarifa someday for a longer time, work there a bit and kite in between. Still a beginner kiteboarder but also still learning. It seems to be one of the only spots in Europe where it's still good in the winter. That's what I'm looking for, not too cold (Holland is quite cold) and nice wind. If you happen to know more places around Europe, preferably reachable by car, where it's good fun from november to february, please let me know. I enjoyed the video, thanks for the information !

Thanks for the comment. You're right, in Poniente, it's toughest where the waves break. If you bodyboard beyond, it's easier. Many people (including me) spend the winter here for work & kite. For anybody already being able to kite already, you should be good. Just if you've never been kiting it might be tough. There are some spots in Portugal (Algarve) that I still have to check out. Thanks again, if you give me you thumb up, karma will be with you. Have a great New Years

@@deinneoprenanzug Thanks for the information !! Looking forward to plan some months there next winter, sounds like a brilliant way to enjoy the winter. Christmas on a kiteboard, doesn't get any better :) You already had my thumb up. Wish you an awesome 2024 ❤

@@wernerxldata I'm in the third winter here in Tarifa and even though there's no wind at the moment, it's still awesome kzbin.infoINmilw1cpEg?feature=share Cheers

If one is not confident with Levante in Tarifa, then Palmones in Algeciras is a good alternative. 20-30 minutes from Tarifa depending on traffic. The wind is side on-shore and a little lighter as it is shadowed by the rock. The spot is closed for kiters in summer season, if I am not mistaken.

Tarifa is crap for learning. Off shore gusty strong winds .. go to Mar menor much much better for learning
